Branch News we live and the many blessings the good Lord as granted to all of us. Many family members will be heading over the river and through the woods to grandma's house this Thanksgiving Day. So we wish you all a most blessed holiday. Branch 800 will hold its 69th annual memorial Mass honoring our deceased brother and sister members on Thanksgiving morning at 9:00 a.m. at St. Marks Catholic Church in Altoona, with the Rev. James Coveney as celebrant. All those who are able to attend are asked to do so. Please bring with you a non-perishable food item for the poor. Veterans Day is Nov. 11. This day is set aside each year to honor all those men and women who have served in all of America's wars. We also ask you to remember in your prayers those currently serving our country in the military. May all branch hunters have a safe and enjoyable deer hunting season, which begins on Monday, Nov. 27. Good luck in bringing home that big game prize. Our branch's annual Christmas party will be held on Sunday, Dec. 3, at 6:00 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Express, 3306 Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona. Members, their families and friends are welcome to sign up and enjoy the holiday dinner. Santa Claus will be coming to give treats to the children. Call me at (814) 695-0213 to make your reservations. Deadline for reservations is Nov. 27. Nomination, election and installation of branch officers for the year 2007 will take place Tuesday, Dec. 5, at 7:00 p.m. All members are asked to attend this important meeting. Are you or any member of your family looking for good life insurance or annuities? If so, then call Bob Jones in Altoona at (814) 942-2661. Branch 8121 St. Marys, PA 1 by Margaret Marconi As part of the WPA's Holiday Basket Program, our branch will make a donation to the local Christian food bank at both Thanksgiving and Christmas. Also, at our recent branch meeting, we set a date for our Christmas party and signed get well cards for fellow members. Branch 8321 Windber, PA by Edward T. Surkosky Our branch is once again joining with the Holy Name Society of St. Anthony Catholic Church to host a memorial Mass for deceased members this month. We invited all members to attend our November branch meeting during which we will hold nomination and election of branch officers for the coming year. THAT’S A QUESTION YOU MAY not have asked yourself very often, if ever. But, it’s one you should ask yourself at least once a year. We can’t stress enough the importance of regularly checking the beneficiaries listed on your life insurance policies. It is the only way to ensure that the people you want to receive the benefits of your life insurance are the ones who will receive it. Think about the changes that have occurred in your life since you purchased your life insurance. Getting married, having children, losing a loved one, getting divorced, getting remarried-all these life changes affect your responsibilities. Do the beneficiaries currently listed on your life insurance policies reflect such changes? If you think you need to update the beneficiaries listed on your policies—either primary or secondary beneficiaries—contact your WPA representative. Or, call our Home Office toll-free at I -800-848-7366. William Penn Life, November2006 19
