The next annual meeting of the William Penn Fraternal Association Scholarship Foundation, Inc., will be on Friday, May 5, 2006, at 5:45 p.m. in the Radisson Hotel Pittsburgh Greentree, 101 Radisson Drive, Pittsburgh, PA. The meeting will be held in conjunction with the 63rd Annual Bowling Tournament and Scholarship Days, to be held May 5 to 7, 2006, in Pittsburgh, PA. Any branch or individual donating a minimum of $100 is eligible to vote at the Annual Meeting. Please make your donations payable to "William Penn Fraternal Association Scholarship Foundation, Inc." and send them to Richard W. Toth, National Vice President- Secretary, in care of the Home Office. All contributions, no matter what the amount, will be greatly appreciated. Since 1972, our Scholarship Foundation has awarded 4,134 grants worth $1,707,650. The achievements of our grant recipients-both as productive professionals and as adults of strong character-­­continually renew our belief that helping today's youth is vital for the future of our society and our world. The deadline for adult and juvenile bowling entries has passed, but members and friends of the WPA still have time to reserve their seats for the annual bowling awards dinner to be held Saturday, May 6, at the Radisson Hotel Pittsburgh Greentree. Reservations for the dinner are due at the Home Office by April 13. (See the March 2006 issue of the William Penn Life for a dinner reservation form.) PLEASE NOTE: Those donating prizes for the Chinese Auction are asked to deliver their prize baskets to the bowling registration table, located in the Radisson Hotel lobby, on Friday, May 5. Please deliver your baskets during the afternoon so our volunteers will have time to set up the prize table for the auction that evening. Members begin signing up for ‘Heritage Experience’ PITTSBURGH -- A number of members have already signed up for WPA's 2006 Hungarian Heritage Experi­ence. With enrollment limited to 25 members, the available slots are filling up fast. Don't miss your chance to join us for an incredible week—sign up today. The Experience will be held at Penn Scenic View in Rockwood, Pa., on Aug. 6 to 12. Along with instruction in the Hungarian language, the experience will include programs on Hungarian history and geography, crafts, Hungarian music, dancing and singing and sightseeing. Bill Vasvary-also known as Chef Béla, author of "The Hungarian Kitchen"—will be at Penn Scenic View all week, preparing meals for students and offering demonstrations in Hungarian cooking. The experience is open to any adult member of the William Penn Association over the age of 16. The fee for the week will be $275 per person, which covers the cost of six nights lodging, all meals, books and instruction. To make reservations, complete the form found on Page 7 and send it the Home Office, along with a check in the amount of $275 made payable to "William Penn Association."
