Refreshments were served and the afternoon was enjoyed by all. Thanks to the WPA Board of Directors and the Home Office for their assistance in making the party a success. Before the Christmas party, Branch 51 held its annual election of officers for 2006. Elected were: Ernest J. Mozer Jr., president; Marian Rubin, treasurer; Christine Baldyga, secretary; and Maria Mozer, auditor. We want to thank the former officers of Branch 51-Arthur Barillo, Martha Barillo, Frank Zimmermann, Ann Zimmermann, Hedy Baumgartner, Joe Baumgartner and Richard Mozer-who served our branch for many years. A memorial Mass for our deceased members was held on Feb. 5 at St. Stephen's Church in Passaic. Please pray for our deceased members. May they rest in peace with the Lord. Branch 76 Philadelphia, PA by Jack Tokár Greetings to all William Penn members, officers, underwriters, and employees. I hope you all started the New Year with zest. It was nice to hear from our members during the holidays. Thank you for all the good wishes and calls. It is always a pleasure to meet with our members, especially Margaret and Miguel Garcia, who stopped by to purchase a policy for their mother-inlaw. My thanks go to the following for being loyal members of William Penn Association: Katherine and Ella Barmon, Rose Marie Boerner, the Davis family, Shirley and Kady Demaria, Armand and Laura DeVoe, the Fogarasi family, the Garcia family, Zoltán and Gyöngyi Harta, Donald Hartman, Daniel Howell, Pat Kemer, Tamas Kinyo, Christopher Kushto, Sean McDevitt, Aranka Mezei, Travis Rogers, Gisella Rozman, the Tegzes family, Ferenc and Helen Vida and Adam and Carl Wilson. The same branch officers were reelected for 2006: Jack Tokár, president; Stephen Pokomy, vice president; Bette Lewis Tokár, secretary-treasurer; and; James Pokomy and Stephen Branch News Pokomy, auditors. We have to thank the Pokomy brothers a great deal for their work as auditors for the past several years. Good friends Mike Tomcsak and Joan Mauerman: I know you are doing well, since you have lots of people from our area. We particularly miss our dear friends, Laura and Armand DeVoe, who are now Florida residents. We look forward to their visit in May. Endre Csornán: I enjoyed reading the article you wrote visiting the Karpatalia. I am from that area. The Russian border used to be more then 100 km. away; now it is about 1 km. Art Barillo: thanks for the call. A1 Vargo: it is always nice talking to you about our mutual friends in Slovakia and about their struggles. God Bless America. Also thanks for the good wishes and hello to Anthony and Marguerite Beke. Many thanks to all the helpful people in the WPA offices: Gerry, Donna, Dora, Debbie, John Lovász, Mark Lantz and other friends. Our Hungarian club is still for sale. We are fortunate to have many offers and options. It is a beautiful property and is located just inside the northeast border of Philadelphia and Bucks County. So, we shall see what decisions are made. The Hungarian club was very busy over the holidays. The Christmas party was a great success, and the children enjoyed the candy and the clever gifts provided by the WPA home office. New Year's Eve at the Philadelphia Hungarian Club was a sell-out; even Anne Dobo, the club president, could not get a table in the dining room. On January 28 the club hosted a Disco night, and on Feb. 11 there was a Valentine Dance. Remember: our monthly meetings, as usual, are held the last Friday every month at the Philadelphia Hungarian Club, 1125 Southampton Road at 8:00 p.m. For directions or reservations for the club, call 215-969- 9446. For your life insurance call Jack Tokár. 14 William Penn Life, March 2006 Young members enjoy the Branch 51 annual Christmas party. Branch 51 officers for 2006 are (l-r): Marian Rubin, treasurer, Ernest J. Mozer Jr., president; Christine Baldyga, secretary; and Maria Mozer, auditor.
