Thank you for the many sacrifices you have endured for the freedoms we all take for granted. Happy Thanksgiving to all! Branch 590 Cape Coral, FI by Joan Mauerman Branch 590 resumed its meetings with a picnic Oct. 5 at Gilchrist Park in Punta Gorda, Fla. Bingo and Roller Ball games were played. Game and door prize winners were Kalman Nagy, Anna Bartus, Richard Galambos, Tony Di Guilio, Vi Timmer Shinski, Eugene Toth, László Pingiczer and Gyöngyi Császár. A fine time was had by all. I would like to thank Helen Toth for all her help. I traveled to Scottsdale, Ariz., Sept. 6 for the NAIC Convention. While there, I visited my niece, Krista Hopper, and her family. Her sons Aaron, Liam and Jordan are all WPA members. Reni Gantt, her mother and my sister, flew in from Roseville, Calif. It was great to see them all. Also attending the convention were Mike Tomcsak and Betty and A1 Vargo. Entertainment included Native American dancers performing a hoop dance and demonstrations on making Native American jewelry. On Sept. 16,1 was at the WPA Picnic at Penn Scenic View, working at the pastry booth with Betty Vargo, Margo Beke, Donna Nagy and Ruth Toth. Mike Tomcsak was working at the front gate. A special "hello" to Jack Tokár. Sorry you could not attend the picnic. We missed you. Andy Girard demonstrated fly fishing techniques. I didn't see it, but I heard it was interesting. Andy is also very knowledgeable about coins, so if you have any questions about them, he is your man. Welcome new members Jordan Hopper and Mary Eason. Happy birthday wishes to Avary Boano, Connor Damon, Owen Damon, Mickey Tomcsak, David Mauerman, Cassidy Dues, Dylan Dues, Tina Mauerman, Juda Mauerman, Margo Beke and Chris Damon. Congratulations to Kyra Beke for donating her hair to Locks of Love. Two of my granddaughters—Joanie Mauerman of Crawford, Texas, and Sarina Mauerman of Boardman, Ohio-donated their hair last year. We are very proud of all of them. Get well wishes to Elsie Radvany and Elsie Kantor, two very special ladies. Heartfelt condolences to the family of Michael Weingart of Canfield, Ohio. He leaves behind his wife Marilyn, daughter Jennifer and son Michael, all of Canfield; his mother Veronique (Vi), sister Mary and brother Kenny, all of Riverside, Calif.; and his sister Martha Tomko and brother Donny, both of Canfield. He was the nephew of National Director Michael Tomcask. We will keep him in our prayers. Congratulations to Kathy Novak on being recognized as a Fraternal MVP. Great job, Kathy! You deserve the honor for all of your hard work. If you would like to share information about what's happening with you or your family, or if you would like information on WPA life insurance and annuity plans, then please call Mike Tomcsak at (863) 858-8071.
