is mind-boggling. Special thanks to Ronda Grotefend and Lisa Toth. Your help is invaluable. With helpers like these, it was a super success. Please think about donating items for the Chinese auction to be held at the Annual Golf Tournament and the WPA Picnic. You can bring your prize with you or get it to the Home Office. We will make sure it arrives at the proper location. Thank you all. I hope everyone enjoys a wonderful summer. Branch 28 Youngstown, OH —— ............ •................. by Kathy Novak Applause, applause to the committee members and Home Office staff and directors for preparing such a wonderful bowling tournament and fraternal weekend for everyone to enjoy. The event seemed to be well attended and enjoyed by all. We thank those responsible for doing such an outstanding job. Congratulations to all those lucky bowlers who won the tournament and the winners of the auction and raffles. Branch 28 President Steve Novak was one of the three participants in the Surprise Drawing at the dinner. As always, it was so nice seeing everyone again. Now, we can all look forward to the next great gathering—the Annual Golf Tournament in July at Mountaineer. Remember to mark your calendars for the annual Magyar Nap (Hungarian Day) to be held on Sunday, Aug. 13, at the Youngstown Hungarian Club House, 2219 Donald Ave., sponsored by the Youngstown American Hungarian Federation. More details will appear in future branch reports. Also, we remind you to call Steve Novak at (330) 746-7704 to reserve your seat on our bus trip to Penn Scenic View Sept. 16 for the WPA Picnic. You should also call Frank Schauer at (330) 549-2935 to make reservations for our bus trip Oct. 21 to attend events celebrating the 50th anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. Branch News Best of luck to all graduates. They have many doors of opportunity to choose from. Get well wishes to all our members who have been experiencing health problems. We hope all the wonderful mothers in our midst and hearts were remembered in a special way on their day. We also wish all fathers a great day on June 18. Happy birthday wishes to everyone celebrating another wonderful year, especially Branch Vice President Frank Schauer. Also, best wishes to all celebrating an anniversary. Special thoughts and prayers go out to those who recently lost a loved one. For your life insurance needs, call Kathy Novak at (330) 746-7704 or Alan Szabó at (330) 482-9994. Branch 76 Philadelphia, PA by Jack Tokár The William Penn Association had an extremely informative sales meeting in Pittsburgh during May. It was a pleasure meeting some new people like Sales Director Mark Lantz and salesmen Andrew Girard and Alan Szabó. It was also great to see some familiar faces, particularly Anthony and Marguerite Beke, A1 and Betty Vargo and Barbara House. At the meeting, I mentioned that we are flooded with advertisements for insurance by mail and on the internet. However, close examination reveals that William Penn is both better and less expensive, probably because we save money on advertising. As you will see in this issue of William Penn Life, the 6th Annual WPA Picnic will be held on Saturday, Sept. 16, from noon to 6:00 pm, at Penn Scenic View in Rockwood, Pa. The picnic includes all-you-can-eat, delicious Hungarian specialties. Admission is $10 for adults and $4 for students. Children under 10 are free. If there is sufficient interest, Branch 76 will rent a bus to take us there and back. If you are interested in attending, please call Jack Tokár at (215) 357-4516 as soon as possible, so that arrangements can be made. You do NOT need to be a member to attend. If you need further information about the picnic, you can call the home office at 1-800-848-7366, extension 136. It will be a good time! The Philadelphia Hungarian Club had an unusually large turnout for the Memorial Day celebration this year. The Club has been sold, but there are plans to continue its activities in another location after the transfer to the new owner. We hope that all those who enjoy the Hungarian food, music, and culture will continue to support the Club's activities. The Memorial Day program of the Philadelphia Hungarian Club was directed by Tibor Pavianski from the Hero Monument in front of the Hungarian Club. The monument honors heroes from the Revolutionary War to the present day. Our thanks go to all the ladies who baked their popular retes and sutemeny. We want to welcome back Gyongi Harta and Aranka Mezei from their trips to Hungary. We also want to wish a happy birthday to Kalman Fogarasi, to Gyongi Harta's father, and to all those who are celebrating birthdays this month. Congratulations to all the successful students, especially those who are graduating. A special hello goes to Kady and Shirley DeMaria. We want to welcome Armand and Laura DeVoe back from their winter in Florida; we hope you will have an enjoyable summer at the New Jersey shore. Remember to contact Jack Tokár at (215) 357-4516 for your insurance and annuity needs. Branch 129 Columbus, OH by Árpád Sibrik Tire WPA bowling tournament was a great success. Our ladies team did very well, as did the two male bowlers. Everyone had a good time. Several members are having health problems. My wife, Priscilla, underwent eye surgery.
