Our condolences are extended to the families of Bill Mayor, Andy Vámos and Michael Hrabar. May they rest in peace. Seen at the January meeting of the Port Charlotte Hungarian Club were snowbirds (all WPA members) Betty Skoney of Tonawanda, N.Y.; Elizabeth (Szombati) Seaner of Lancaster, N.Y.; John and Mary (Toth) Murincak of Richeyville, Pa.; and Irene and Bill Poole of La Plata, Md. They all have winter homes in the Port Charlotte area. Also, visiting her son William Borst of Port Charlotte was Mrs. Borst of Norwalk, Conn. They all agreed that our 79 degree temperature was wonderful. "Hi!" to special friends Jack Tokár, Andy Girard and Betty Menner. I loved the picture in last month's William Penn Life of the Baldyga triplets. I know Mary Mozer and the late Ernie Mozer were proud of them and of their other beautiful grandchildren. They are a very close and loving family. Our special thanks go to Nick Nagy and Julie and Kalman Nagy for having faith in the WPA. Our next meeting will be held March 4 at the Harbor Heights Country Club in Charlotte Harbor, Fla. We will celebrate the March 15, 1848, Hungarian Independence Day. On Sunday, Feb. 8,1 attended the It Starts With Us Join Hands Day May 1, 2004 Farsangi Bál at the Hungarian Liberty Club in Plant City. Some of the guests were dressed in costumes. There were about 25 WPA members there. A1 and Olga Wansa of Brownstown, Mich., were there. They will be in Florida until April. They are members of Branch 18 Lincoln Park, Mich. On Feb. 27, the Gázsa Folk Ensemble of Budapest performed at the Plant City Hungarian Liberty Club. Just a reminder: the club hosts dinners on the second Sunday of each month. The Naples Hungarian Club will hold an 1848 Independence Day Dinner-Dance on Saturday, March 20, at the Forest Glen Golf & Country Club in Naples. Music will be provided by Zoltán Balogh. For reservations, call Frank Dobos at 239-348- 7822. Frank is a WPA member and does a fabulous job promoting fratemalism. For all of your life insurance and annuity needs, please call Mike Tomcsak at 863-858-8071. Branch 800 Altoona, PA by Vincent Frank Happy St. Patrick's Day! Many people look forward to March 17. It's a day of eating good Irish food and wearing of the green. Here's a little Irish blessing: May your troubles be less and your blessings be more, And nothing but happiness come through your door. Branch 800 has approved our annual donation of $500 to St. Dismas Parish, which is located inside the state prison in Huntingdon, Pa. This financial help is most welcomed by the Catholic chaplain there. It allows him to meet the spiritual needs of the parish's inmates. Congratulations to member Rodger Frank who is celebrating his 75th birthday during the month of March. In an interesting conversation with him at the supermarket, I was impressed with his knowledge of how to select the proper foods to eat and stay healthy. He is a reader of the William Penn Life. God bless you, Rodger. It's refreshing to know that the spring season will be here on March 20, following a very cold and snowy winter here in central Pennsylvania. Many people are experiencing "cabin fever" after all this wintry weather. We also know nice weather is on the horizon as we look ahead and approach Sunday, April 4. That's when daylight saving time begins. Remember to set all your clocks and watches ahead one hour before you go to sleep the night before. For all your life insurance and annuity needs, please call Bob Jones in Altoona at 814-942-2661. Check out the WPA's great annuity rates. These rates are available only to WPA lifebenefit members. Call Bob to learn more about all the advantages of being a WPA life-benefit member. Branch 8114 Clarion, PA by Noreen Fritz Hey, Bob Donahue! All of your friends wish you a speedy recovery.
