some rough times. Thanks, members. You are loved. We are planning a super trip for our members next summer. We are going to Tunica, Miss., for six days and five nights of fun. We will leave on June 19 and return on June 24. The trip cost is $299, but, for WPA members, it's only $161. The entire cost is refundable up to 15 days before departure. If you cancel your reservation less than 15 days before we leave, I can not guarantee a refund. If you are interested, please send me your check as soon as possible. We already have 30 names on the list, and we have room for only 10 more. Call me for more information. Welcome new members Robert Sabo, Diane Vida and Madeline Banjack. Thank you. We hope to see you at our many events. Speaking of events, Branch 18's Christmas party is coming soon. In order to give you more time for your many December events, we have planned our Christmas party for Sunday, Nov. 28. It will be at the American Hungarian Reformed Church on Allen Road in Allen Park. We'll have gifts, food, entertaiment, Santa and Mrs. Claus, music andmost importantly-friendship and fratemalism to share. If you plan on attending, please call me. If you have youngsters age 16 and under, you will receive an invitation in the mail, but all are invited. There are only three weekends in December to have a Christmas party. We hope the November date works well for you. Special get well greetings to our special friend Rocky Borsa. Rocky suffered a stroke in September. Please send a card or, better yet, say a prayer. Remember also our hard-working members A1 and Olga Wansa, Betty and Rey Holguin, Ethel Molnár and all those in need of our prayers. Get well soon. Please remember our deceased members in your prayers, especially Margaret Spena, Julia Mészáros, Margaret Fazekas and Mary Gyorke. Rest in peace. Special thanks to Wanda Gill and Patty Balia. Very special people. Happy birthday to Edith Kiss Branch News (twice), George Sipos, LaVerne Exner, Irene Korpák, Deborah Jackson, ZsuZsann Tuske, Julia Bujdoso, Don Boswell, Doris Schvarckopf, Gabor Kiss, Olin Wade, Rita Marchelletta, Bill Penzes, Merced Gonzales, Margaret Montgomery, Pete Mayoros, Olga Burinda, Hope Boswell, Paula Stubbs, Rose Tuske, Steve Jurko, John Solosy (thanks for taking care of our raffle tickets), Doug Truesdell, Brandi Mayoros, Jessica Morsfield, Krisztina Kortvesi and Anna Nagy. May you all have many more. Wow! Wasn't that a picnic in Rockwood, Pa.? Many thanks to Endre Csornán, his crew and all our wonderful volunteers and members. We had a beautiful day, we raised a lot of money for our scholarship foundation, and, most importantly, we were all together. Look out next year. We learn with every one we have. Hope you had a great time. Don't forget Chef Béla. He is waiting for your recipes to include in the upcoming edition of the WPA cookbook. We need many, many more. My mother and I recently returned from Hungary. We had a wonderful time. We saw many family members and friends. We spent time in the city and time in the Falu. From one extreme to the other. I enjoyed them both. Thirteen days went by a little too quickly. You really must spend more time there. It's just too difficult to squeeze everything in. We had two events planned and paid for that we didn't attend. You can only do so much in 13 days. Or, am I getting older? I recommend everyone visit Hungary. It is a beautiful country with much to see. Congrats to Bill Toth. What a way to celebrate your 90th birthday. Oct. 6 was Bill Toth Day in Melvindale. Bill is a former councilman. He and his wife, Anna, have been lifelong members of the WPA. Bill and Anna also celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary at the same time. Congratulations to you both. We're very proud of you. Remember: You can contact me any time at 313-383-4472 or 313-294-3997. Have a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving. Branch 28 Youngstown, OH by Kathy Novak It is hard to believe but the wheels are spinning to finalize plans for the annual Branch 28 Christmas party, which is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 4, at the Franciscan Friary on Belle Vista Avenue. Your invitation will be arriving soon to notify members of all the details. Santa Claus will also be receiving his special invite. We look forward to seeing you there. Also remember that the scholarship raffle will be held during our Christmas party. If you need tickets, please call Branch President Steve Novak at 330-746-7704. Please buy or sell these tickets and help support this fund raiser. Returning after a little more than two weeks traveling on their own, Bill Peyko and his son Eric have many, many wonderful stories to tell and memories to keep. Eric arranged all their travel plans on his own, including many visits to uncommon tourist areas. Imagine their surprise when they saw a poster advertising a local theater production on a telephone pole in Budapest, and the poster listed someone with Bill's wife's maiden name--Fenyo--on it as one of the stars. Their travels took them through six different European countries, including plenty of time spent in Hungary. Invitations have been sent to our 50-year members to join us for a special gathering to he held in their honor. Best wishes to everyone having a special day of celebration this month, whether it be a birthday or anniversary. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those who have recently experienced the loss of a loved one. A blessed Thanksgiving is wished to everyone. Do you have questions about life insurance, annuities or branch activities? Or, do you have news to share? If so, please call Alan Szabó at 330-482-9994 or Kathy at 330-746- 7704.
