Branch 34 Pittsburgh, PA by Andy McNelis With summer at an end and the new school year back in session, we ask that you keep the branch informed of our young members' achievements and activities by calling one of the numbers listed at the end of this article. Speaking of school, congratulations go to my niece Nicole Vámos for making the Dean's List last semester at Duquesne University. She attained a 3.68 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) with her lowest grade being a "B." Nicole's major is accounting and this fall she will be in her junior year. Keep up the good work Nicole; we are all very proud of you. A friend in the branch informed me of the passing of John Andrew Paranay, 79, of Los Angeles, CA, formerly of Hazelwood. He passed away on June 2,2004. He was the husband of Marge Paranay, father of Bruce and Greg, brother of Yolanda Stara, Joseph Paranay, the late Margie Paranay, and cousin of Margaret Stefan. Please keep his family in your prayers. In last month's article I mentioned that branch member Sally Herrera was recovering from knee surgery. She had a hip replacement. Sorry about the mistake. Get well soon. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Birthday wishes for September go out to branch members Karen Doyle, Soleil Nagoda, Liam Deasy, Susan King, Elaine Mate, my niece Nicole Vámos, great-niece Gábriellé Kelley and my daughter-in-law Valerie McNelis. We hope this year will be a happy and healthy one for all of you. If you have any news you would like to share, please contact Andy McNelis at 412-421-6031. For information about William Penn insurance and annuity policies, please contact our branch coordinator Maria Bistey at 412-431-6035.
