61st Annual Bowling Tournament Lucky strikes earn bowlers extra cash prizes INDEPENDENCE, OH - Rolling a strike can be tough enough, but when there's money on the line and dozens of people are watching you, it can be down right impossible. Yet, the near impossible is what three William Penn bowlers did during the "Lucky Strike" contest held as part of the team event on Saturday, May 29, at Cloverleaf Lanes in Independence. Despite those long odds, three bowlers did roll strikes at the right time and walked away with some extra cash. Charles Sera of Branch 159 Phoenixville, Pa.-pictured in the photo on the left with Tournament Co-Administrators Frank J. Radvany (left) and Ronald S. Balla-won $300 since he was the first and only male bowler to roll a strike immediately after his name was drawn during the third game. On the women's side, Helen Molnár of Branch 18 Lincoln Park, Mich., (middle photo) won $100 for rolling a lucky strike during the first game, and Karen Botti of Branch 129 Columbus, Ohio, (right photo) won $200 for bowling a strike during the third game after no one won during the second game.
