House Happy Halloween to all our little trick-or-treaters. Hope you get a bunch of goodies. Welcome new members Laci and Katalin Lukacs and Bill Connor. Hope you will be active and supportive members. Thank you so much for choosing the WPA for your insurance and annuity needs. Thank you, also, to longtime member Rose Adams. It was a joy to meet you. Your directions were just perfect. As this was being written, we were a week away from the the WPA "Fraternal Fest" Picnic. I hope you were able to attend. As with all our events, the best part of the whole thing is seeing our members. I've been praying for great weather. We have just returned from our most important event, the 35th General Convention. It was great to be with our wonderful delegates and guests. Thank you to all who voted with the best interest of the William Penn Association in their hearts and minds. Your newly-elected Board members are: Steve Varga, chairman; E. E. (Al) Vargo and Elmer Toth, vice chairmen; Ron Balia; Anthony Beke; Bill Bero; Barbara House; Charlie Johns; Mike Kara; Andy McNelis; Frank Radvany; and Michael Tomcsak. National Auditing Committee members are: Bob Ivancso, chairman; Dennis Chobody, vice chairman; Marge Boso, secretary; Joe Hamari; Anne Marie Schmidt; and Bill Vasvary. Re-elected by the Board as National Officers were: George S. Charles Jr., national president; Richard W. Toth, national vice president-secretary; and Diane M. Torma, national vice president-treasurer. What a wonderful day that was to see so many happy faces. That night's banquet was one of the best ever. Superb food, music memories and happiness were enjoyed by all. We are looking forward to the next four years with unbridled enthusiasm. The Chinese auction held during the Convention's delegate reception brought in $2,000. Many thanks to Dianne Charles who has worked so hard to make this such a success. She finally has her family room back. Many baskets were stored there for a long time. Thanks, Dianne. I love you. Our Scholarship Foundation was the happy recipient of $21,000 raised during the Convention, an all-time high. As Chairman Steve Varga said: "See you in four years." I can't wait. Thank you, Bob and Nancy All articles and photographs for the November issue of the William Penn Life are due in our by October 10, 16 Williu Pen Life, October 2003
