Hope in a shoe box PITTSBURGH — It’s beginning to look a little like Christmas at the Home Office, thanks to the donations we have received for our Operation Christmas Child 2002 campaign. You, too, can bring hope to children living in crisis situations around the world by joining us in the worthwhile effort. You can either: (I) fill a shoe box (or two) with small items any child could use; (2) send us such items which we qin pack into shoe boxes; or (3) send us a monetary donation with which we can buy items for more shoe boxes. Learn Hungarian ROCKWOOD, PA - The WPA is seeking students for its 13th annual Hungarian Language Camp Aug. 4 to 10 at Penn Scenic View. The camp is open to all WPA adult lifebenefit members. Cost is $225 per person and includes 25 hours of instruction, all meals, six nights accommodations and all learning materials. Young WPA members living in Pennsylvania and New Jersey are invited to apply for special monetary awards being offered by their respective state fraternal congresses. The Pennsylvania Fraternal Congress (PFC) recently announced it will again offer at least one $500 scholarship grant to a deserving young student from a PFC- member society in 2002. Last year, largely due to the generosity of PFC- member societies, the PFC was able to award $500 grants to four students. PFC officials hope to raise enough funds to offer a similar number of grants this year, but applicants can rest assured that at least one grant will be awarded. To be eligible for the PFC scholarship, you must: Be a resident of Pennsylvania and a member of a fraternal benefit socjety that is a member of the PFC. Be a 2002 high school graduate attending an accredited college, university or trade school in the summer/fall of 2002 as a full-time student. Obtain a letter of recommendatioi^from your fraternal society. Submit a 500-word essay on "What Fraternalism Means to Me."
