The officers and members of Branch 28 Youngstown, Ohio, gather around Santa Claus during the branch’s annual family Christmas party held this past December. Branch 19 New Brunswick, NJ By Evelyn B. Bodnar On Dec. 10,2000, we elected our branch officers for the year 2001. They are: The Rev. Dr. Joseph Bodnar, president; Ruth Vasvary, vice president; Evelyn Bodnar, secretarytreasurer; Ernest Arvai, auditor; and Albert Suldo, auditor. Our children's Christmas party followed the election. We were entertained by a clown, enjoyed a catered supper, and received gifts from Santa. Everyone had a wonderful afternoon. We thank the Home Office for the gifts and financial support. We donated some of our party money to the local soup kitchen and to the Kiddie Keep Well Camp. We wish everyone good health and happiness in 2001. Branch 26 Sharon, PA By Betty Panin On Dec. 6, 2000, Branch 26 held its family Christmas party at Holy Trinity auditorium in Farrell, Pa. The turnout was not as large as anticipated. We had our buffet lunch followed by a program which included a magician and the singing of Christmas carols. A variety of children's gifts were donated by Margaret Rasketa, which were raffled off. Santa Claus provided the highlight of the party as he listened to the children's requests and passed out treats of candy and fruit. The children and adults also received gifts supplied by the Home Office. As I resign as president of Branch 26,1 would like to thank the Home Office for all the support it has provided our branch. I also thank the members and friends of Branch 26 for helping to make our parties successful. Thanks and best wishes to all. Branch 28 Youngstown, OH By Kathy Novak A big "thank you" to the Home Office and to all branch members who helped make the children's Christmas party a success. As you can see in the photo (above) provided by Branch Vice President Frank Schauer, our group gets larger every year. Once again the Aut-Mori Clowns (a group of local volunteers who help handicapped children) entertained us. Santa's helper elf Irene arrived prior to Santa (John Tollas) to get everyone geared up for Santa's visit. As always, our buffet lunch offered a large variety of good food. All the leftover toys and candy was donated to Tod's Children's Hospital for distribution. After the party we elected officers for 2001. Branch President Steve Novak and the other officers from last year were reelected for another term. During our January meeting, members considered ideas for branch activities, including day trips to nearby attractions and a fund raising raffle. Anyone with suggestions for branch activities should please contact one of our officers. The Youngstown American Hungarian Federation will commemorate the Hungarian revolution of 1848 with a program on Sunday, March 18 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Stephen of Hungary Church, 854 Wilson Ave. The program will include music, poetry and guest speakers. Branch 28 members were saddened by the loss of Gabe Nameth, our branch coordinator. He served the WPA for many years. May he rest in peace. Our condolences go to his family and all those who have recently experienced the loss of a loved one. Our annual memorial Mass for deceased members is scheduled for Sunday, July 22, at the Franciscan monastery on Belle Vista Avenue. Way to go, Chrissy Toth! Your outstanding volleyball skills and talents are bringing you much deserved credit and recognition. We remind you to watch your local papers for the dates and times of our monthly branch meetings. Our meetings are usually held on the third Monday of each month. Have questions about your life insurance? Call Alan Szabó at (330) 482-9994. Happy St. Patrick's Day!
