I Please pray for the eternal rest "v; of all our recently departed members and friends JOHN E. JÁVOR LORAIN, OH -- The members of Branch 17 Lorain were saddened by the death of longtime Branch President John E. Jávor. Mr. Jávor, 83, passed away March 28, 2001, at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain, following a lengthy illness. Mr. Jávor was a dedicated and devoted advocate for our Association and his Hungar­ian heritage. In addition to his loyal service to his branch, he also served as a delegate to six WPA General Conventions. Anyone who attended the Convention banquets or other Hungarian affairs knew Mr. Jávor loved to dance. He also was an avid stamp collector. He was bom June 13,1917, in Lorain, and was a lifelong resident. He was a retired machinist at U.S. Steel where he worked for 41 years. He also served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a machinist mate 2nd class aboard the USS Albert T. Harris. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Louis Paul Proy Chapter 20, Catholic Church of St. Peter, St. Peter's Senior Citizens Club, United Steelworkers of America Local 1104, VFW Post 451 and the Hungarian American Citizens Club, all in Lorain. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie, in 1984. He is survived by three sons, Thomas of Aurora, Colo., Kenneth of Mentor, Ohio, and Gregory of Bay Village, Ohio; a daughter, Janice Dow of Plymouth, Minn.; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Mandros of Richardson, Texas. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated April 2 at the Catholic Church of St. Peter, Lorain, with the Rev. Michael Williamson officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, with military honors by Louis Paul Proy Chapter 20. May he rest in peace. ANDREW CRISTINA PITTSBURGH - The Home Office was saddened by the recent death of Andrew "Tony" Cristina, father of Home Office employee Donna Griffin. Mr. Cristina, 68, died of cardiac arrest May 19, 2001. He was a professional boxer during the 1960s, fighting under the name "Tony Christy" in rings at Madison Square Garden, Texas, Erie and the Pittsburgh area. As an amateur, he won several Golden Glove championships in the 1950s. Mr. Cristina also worked as a brick pointer and was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Pittsburgh. In addition to his daughter Donna, he is survived by three sons, Tony, Thomas and Jeffrey; a daughter, Angela Radovitch; a brother, nine grandchildren and two great­grandchildren. May he rest in peace. FILOMENA DINZEO PITTSBURGH - The Home Office was saddened by the recent death of Filomena "Fannie" Dinzeo, grand­mother of National Vice President-Treasurer Diane M. Torma. Mrs. Dinzeo, 90, died May 9, 2001. She was a retired head cook with the former Churchill School District with 25 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Dinzeo; a son, Matthew; two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Dolly Kühner and Roselle Kucic; a son, Tom; three sisters; a brother; 14 grandchildren; 17 great­grandchildren; and one great­­great-grandson. May she rest in peace. LILLIAN LENERT PITTSBURGH - The Home Office was saddened by the recent death of Lillian Lenert, mother of Home Office employee Dore McKinsey. Peacefully, with her family at her side, Mrs. Lenert passed away on April 24,2001. In addition to her daughter Dora, Mrs. Lenert is survived by her husband of 55 years, John, two daughters, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. May she rest in peace.
