Two days to keep in mind for enjoying good Hungarian food and music are Sunday, July 22, for the summer gathering at St. Stephen of Hungary Church, 854 Wilson Ave., and Sunday, Aug. 12, for the Youngstown American Hungarian Federation's annual Hungarian Day at 2219 Donald Ave. We're glad to report that a fairly good response allowed us to rent a bus to travel to Ligonier, Pa., for the April 26 concert by the Partium University Choir. My sincere thanks to the Home Office and Board of Directors for their vote of confidence and support as they appointed me coordinator for Branch 28 beginning April 1.1 appreciate this opportunity and hope to be able to do a successful job. Congratulations and best wishes to all those celebrating birthdays and anniversaries this month. Our thoughts and prayers are with all our members experiencing health problems. Photo by László Kerkay Kiss had retired to the New Jersey area several years ago due to poor health. He was a very active participant at all Hungarian functions. He served in many Hungarian communities throughout the northeastern U.S. May his soul and those of all our departed loved ones find eternal rest. We're hoping to see some of our readers at the tri-state picnic Sept. 15 at Penn Scenic View. The Hungarian flag was raised at the Clifton City Hall. All present sang the American and Hungarian national anthems. James Anzaldi, mayor of Clifton, opened the ceremonies. The Rev. Stephen Mustos, pastor of St. Stephen's Magyar R.C. Church, also spoke. Also in attendance were National Auditing Committee member Ernest J. Mozer Sr. and his wife Maria. We remind everyone the Annual Bowling Tournament will be held May 25 to 27 in Toledo, Ohio. Anyone interested in attending should call Mr. Mozer at (973) 471-9852. Horvath On March 24 members and their families enjoyed our branch's "Youth Day." First, we went to Saylor's Pizza and enjoyed the best pizza in town. Later, we met at the Studebaker National Museum to see the "Dinosaurs Alive" exhibit as well as the classic Studebaker cars, trucks, military vehicles and wagons. The wagons were the first products of the Studebaker brothers. They made the famed Connestoga wagon that was used to open the West to settlers. The visit brought back memories of South Bend when the number one selling car in town was a Studebaker.
