Please pray for the eternal rest of our departed members and friends. GLADYS LIPPERT MAYVILLE, VVI - It is with much sadness I must report the loss of an important member of the Branch 705 team. After a strong fight with cancer, Gladys Lippert passed away on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000. Gladys served as secretarytreasurer of the branch since its inception. She routinely handled the service and business calls of our members on an everyday basis. She was the motivational factor in the organization of social and fraternal events. Moreover, Gladys was happy and proud to have represented her district at several William Penn Association General Conventions. Despite her serious illness, she was very disappointed about not attending the most recent convention in the fall of 1999, and would have gladly served. She will be sorely missed by many, for indeed, her passing did create a vacancy.- John J. Lippert Branch 705 Coordinator REV. FRANCIS M. DISMACHEK PITTSBURGH - The members of Branch 34 Pittsburgh were saddened by the recent death of fellow branch member the Rev. Francis M. Dismachek. Father Dismachek, 93, passed away Feb. 5, 2000. He served as a Roman Catholic priest for 65 years. He was assigned to St. Ann's Parish as assistant pastor in June 1934. In July 1941 he was named pastor and served in that position until his retirement in October 1976. Father Dismachek was a good friend to the branch, allowing the branch to hold its meetings and many social activities in the church's hall. He is survived by a nephew, Robert Dismachek; a niece, Erma Zapf; five greatnephews and one great-niece. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Feb. 8 at St. Stephen Catholic Church with the Most Rev. Donald W. Wuerl, bishop of Pittsburgh, as main celebrant. Interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery. May he rest in peace. STEPHEN VARGA NEW YORK - The Association extends its deepest sympathy to the family of National Director Stephen J. Varga on the recent death of his father, Stephen Varga, who passed away on Feb. 10, 2000. May he rest in peace. JANUARY 2000 ARRUDA, Angelina Branch 723 Worcester, MA BAKER, Virgil L.
