Branch 18 Lincoln Park, Ml By Barbara A. House I hope you are all having a wonderful summer. We are not having the intense heat that was predicted, but it's hot enough for most of us. I really prefer winter. I want to remind everyone about our trip to Traverse City. Remember, the cost is $200 for non-members and $100 for members. You will see Kenny Rogers on Friday evening. For more information, see the ad below. I will need your money before the end of August in order to save your seat. Sure hope you plan to attend. We have a lovely hotel right on the water. Congratulations to Emily Ann Mach (left) on her graduation on June 8. Emily is a real sweetie and is the great niece of Emilia Blair. Good luck, Emily. Special thanks to our hard working members Mike and Emma Poliska, Carol and Doug Truesdell, Emilia Blair, Mary Duzy and Bill Imry. They all came with me to the veterans hospital where we sponsored a bingo and gave out prizes and money. We really had a great time. Our next visit will be in September. We are also going in December. If you would like to attend, just let me know. Transportation will be provided for you. Special get well wishes to Steve Szalay. Please remember him in your prayers. Happy 63rd wedding anniversary to Marge and Kelly Heller. I still can't believe it. Remember the families of our deceased members in your prayers, especially the families of Joe Schettini and Alma Bogard. May they rest in peace. Happy birthday to all our super members, especially Anna Zelenak, Rudy Korpák, Ernie Molnár, Bill Imry and Andy Breznai. You are all special people to us. Our next branch meeting will be held Sept. 8 at 7:00 p.m. at the Hungarian American Cultural Center on Goddard Road, Taylor. We will also meet on Oct. 18. Our Traverse City trip will take place Oct. 20 to 22. Please feel free to join us anytime. Many of us have a traditional Hun­garian meal at the center before our meetings. Starting on Aug. 11, the center will have strolling Gypsies to entertain you as you dine every Friday and Sunday. They plan to visit again in September and December.
