February 1999, William Penn Life, Page 7 In Memóriám MARTON NADAS1 FLINT, MI — The members of Branch 214 Flint were saddened by the news that former Branch Presi­dent Marton Nadasi had passed away. Mr. Nadasi, 86, died Oct. 18, 1998, at McLaren Regional Medi­cal Center. Mr. Nadasi, who served as presi­dent of his branch for 11 years, was bom in Visegrad, Hungary, Sept. 24, 1912. He owned and operated Flint Auto Upholstery for 16 years, retiring in 1974. He was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catho­lic Church of Burton, Mich., and the St. Joseph Hungarian Club. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Voros. He is survived by his wife Catherine of Flusing, Mich.; a son, László and his wife Joanne of Glen­dale, Ariz.; a friend, Alex Lorinczi and his wife Rosemary of Flushing; two grandchildren; a great-grand­child; and several nieces and neph­ews. Mass of Christian burial was cel­ebrated Oct. 20 at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Burial was at Flushing Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Asso­ciation. May he rest in peace. DARRELL LEE HEPLER RUFFSDALE, PA - The Home Office staff was saddened by the recent death of Darrell Lee Hepler, father of Home Office employee Debra Evans and fa­ther-in-law of Home Office employee Steven Evans. Mr. Hepler, 72, passed away Jan. 15 at his home following an and operated the Ocean Park Restau­rant for 25 years before it closed in 1974. For the past six years, they oper­ated the Spring-house Basket Shop. The couple also maintained a family farm throughout their marriage. He was a member of the Blythe Masonic Lodge #593 of West Newton, Pa., and the Calvin United Presbyterian Church in Scottdale. In addition to his wife, daughter and son-in-law, he is survived by another daughter, Donna Drumm; a grand­daughter, Rebecca Crea and her hus­band John; two stepgrandchildren, Michelle Morrison and her husband William, and Julie Evans; three stepgreat-grandchildren, Michael Morrison and John and Christa Crea; a sister, Dorothy Dudinsky; and a brother, Cortlyn Hepler. He was preceded in death by a sis­ter, Marjorie Schondelmayer and an infant brother. Funeral services were held Jan. 16 at the Robert B. Ferguson Funeral Home, Scottdale. KAPINUS PITTSBURGH - The members of Branch 34 Pittsburgh and the Home Of­fice staff were saddened by the recent death of member Anna R. Kapinus, mother of Home Office employee Rob­ert A. Kapinus. Mrs. Kapinus, 87, passed away Dec. 26, 1998. Mrs. Kapinus, who was bom Feb. 14, 1911, in Hungary, was an active member of Branch 34 for 64 years. She was also a former member of the now­nephews. Mass of Christian Burial was cel­ebrated Dec. 30, 1998, at St. Rosalia Church. May she rest in peace. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II with the 734th Air Force Unit, achieving the rank of sergeant first class. He was a retired foreman for the Elliott Company in Jeannette, Pa., where he was employed for 37 years, retiring in 1981. He and his wife Dorothy marked their 53rd wedding anniversary the day before he died. Together, they owned closed St. Ann Hungarian Catholic Church in the Hazelwood section of Pittsburgh and a member of the Chris­tian Mothers Guild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew; her grandson, Rich­ard Joseph Kapinus; and a sister, Mary Podegracz.
