Branch News f Branch 14 'A Cleveland, OH J by Dawn D. Ward At the Branch 14 meeting held March 10, a men's team was formed for the bowling tournament. If any other Branch 14 members áré interested in bowling, please call the Ward Agency at (440) 838-1200. The deadline for bowling entry forms is April 16,1999. Congratulations to scholarship recipient Erin Weinmeister, Branch 14 member, for making the dean's list at Edison Community College in Fort Myers, Fla., Erin is a freshman majoring in computer programming. The next Branch 14 meeting will be held Wednesday, April 14, at the Grand Bay Clubhouse, 7001 W. Cross Creek Trail, Brecksville, Ohio, at 7:30 p.m. All Branch 14 Members are welcome to attend and help plan the activities for 1999. Branch 15 Chicago, IL by Mary V. Kaszonyi We at Branch 15 would like to wish all a Happy Easter! With the end of winter, we hope we can rest our backs and say good-bye to our snow shovels until next winter. With the smell of spring in the air, it is time to think bowling. As you all know, the tournament is being held in Pittsburgh. We need both men and women for teams, so please think about making the trip . . . and bring the children for the Juvenile Fun Event. We would like to hear from the younger generation on this, too! Princess Lanes, here we come! The next membership meeting will be held May 2 at approximately 11:30 a.m. (following the end of Mass) at St. Stephen of Hungary Church. We ask that all members make a point to attend, since we will be voting for the delegates to attend the convention in September. No proxy votes are allowed, so we ask you to attend. Alexandra represents the fifth generation of WPA members in her family. Her WPA “ancestors” include her parents, William W. and Lisa Baranyai; grandfather William A. House Don't you love this new publication? Everyone I spoke to seems to be pleased. I hope you are, too. Welcome back Julie and Andy Chesley from seven weeks in Florida. I wish our weather was better for you. Winter was warmer than spring, so far. The Chesleys were visited by the children and grandchildren. Again, welcome home. Happy birthday to our April celebrants and very special people Rose Antal and Rey Holguin. May you have many more. Get well wishes to Betty Holguin. Feel better soon. Please remember in your prayers our deceased members: John Horcsik, Louis C. Bagosi, Sarah Baldy, Julia Frey, Helen Luteran, Kalman C. Nagy, Matilda Samorek and Joseph Valint. May they rest in peace. I just received a call from A1 Horcsik saying his mother Helen was buried recently. Please remember the Horcsik family in your prayers. Remember also our good members Carol and Doug Truesell. Doug's mother Rose passed away on March 24,1999. Mark your calendars for these upcoming events: • A wooden platter dinner at the Hungarian American Cultural Center, May 8. • "May Crowning of Our Blessed Mother" at Holy Cross Hungarian Catholic Church, May 9. • Annual Hungarian festival sponsored by Holy Cross Church at the Yack arena in Wyandotte, June 12 and 13. Hungarian food, gifts, music and dancing are featured. Please try to support these worthy events. By now you have all received your bowling tournament information. I am available to help you at anytime. The deadline is fast approaching. Keep in mind that soon after the bowling, we will be having our Annual Golf Tournament in July.
