WILLIAM PENN LIFE OFFICIAL PUBLICATION OF THE WILLIAM PENN ASSOCIATION, 709 BRIGHTON RD, PITTSBURGH, PA 15233 Volume 33, Number 1 Address Correction Requested January 1998 Begin new year by examining your insurance needs By George S. Charles, Jr. National President PITTSBURGH - The 1998 new year is upon us. It’s hard to believe that 1997 is history. We at the William Penn Association extend best wishes for a truly happy, healthy New Year to all our members and friends. May God’s continued blessing be showered upon each of you, your families and your friends. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all our members, branch officers and sales representatives who have helped in increasing our membership in 1997 and ask for your continued support in 1998. It is necessary from time to time to re-examine what life insurance is and why all of us should know its many benefits. From a practical standpoint, life insurance is protection against financial loss resulting from death. Legally, a life insurance certificate (policy) is a contract which promises to pay a specific amount of money to a named beneficiary when death occurs. Who needs life insurance? First and foremost, families need it. A well planned life insurance program can provide financial security for the family’s present needs and, at the same time, build funds for the future. Women need life insurance, whether at home or on the job, married or single. It provides immediate security for loved ones and can build cash value for retirement. Homeowners need life insurance because it can keep the home in the family, free and clear, if a breadwinner dies prematurely. For young adults and children, life insurance can help guarantee a head start in life. Buying at an early age assures them of protection they WPA FRATERNAL EVENTS FOR 1998----------------------------—---------------------------------------------------------------------------------MARCH 15 Hungarian Independence Day Celebration, Pittsburgh, PA MAY 22 WPFA Scholarship Foundation Annual Meeting, Dayton, OH MAY 22-24 55th Annual Bowling Tournament, Dayton, OH JUNE 6 Hungarian Festival, New Brunswick, NJ JUNE 11-25 First WPA-Sponsored Tour of Hungary and Austria JULY 17-18 15th Annual Golf Tournament, Harrisburg/Hershey, PA AUGUST 2-8 Hungarian Language Camp, Penn Scenic View, Rockwood, PA SEPTEMBER 10-24 Second WPA-Sponsored Tour of Hungary and Austria V___________________________________________________) might not qualify for later on in life due to illness or injury. When you buy life insurance, you want coverage that fits your needs. You must first decide how much you need, for how long and what you can afford to pay. You should then find out what plans of insurance are available to meet your needs and pick the one that best suits you. All life insurance policies agree to pay a specified amount of money when you die, but all policies are not the same. Some provide permanent protection while others provide temporary protection. Some policies build up cash values while others do not. Some policies combine different kinds of insurance. Your choice should be based on your needs and what you can afford. Our Association offers Ordinary Life, 20 Pay Life, the Provider and Single Premium Whole Life plans of insurance. We also offer Term plans, which include the Yearly Renewable Term, 10 Year Renewable Term and Special Juvenile Term to 25. Remember, when you enroll in one of our life insurance plans, you automatically become eligible for added fraternal benefits that will make your life better. These benefits, not offered by most commercial companies, give your certificate extra value. These benefits include our Newborn Children Benefit and Graduating High School Seniors Benefit. For more information on these two benefits, please feel free to contact your local sales representative. If you would like a brochure or any information on the insurance plans that we offer, feel free to contact your local sales representative or call us toll-free at the Home Office, and we will be more than happy to send you information on these plans. Feel free to call us from 8:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (EST) Monday through Friday at 1-800-848- PENN (7366). In 1998, think about how life insurance can help you and your family provide a better future for all. We look forward to 1998, a new year bringing with it new opportunities. Take hold of these opportunities to enroll new members and promote our Association. A double dose of Christmas wishes Ryan and Brendon Bodley, members of Branch 349 Weirton, W.
