Branch 10 Barton, OH Branch 40 Martins Ferry, OH Branch 349 Weirton, WV Branch 8164 Steubenville, OH Branch 8285 Mingo Junction, OH By Louis A. Fodor National Director The invitations went out Dec. 2 to all children in these branches, notifying all that our Christmas party was to be held Dec. 9 at Someplace Special in Martins Ferry. Everything went well, except we didn’t count on the weather. Frigid temperatures moved into the area Dec. 8, and the next day was no better. Nevertheless, children started arriving by 12:30 p.m. and continued arriving until 3:00 p.m. Santa and Mrs. Claus (Gabe and Irene Rozsa) stayed until 1:45 p.m. then left because of other commitments. So, some of the late arrivals missed Santa. However, the stocking each child received made up for all the trouble it took to get to the party. The stockings included coloring books, crayons, pencils, money, cracker jacks, an orange and an apple. The grown ups received calendars, pens and other items supplied by the Home Office. At 2:00 p.m., the staff of Someplace Special served a buffetstyle, full-course meal which all enjoyed. Shortly after 3:00 p.m., the music started. Pittsburgh’s Dorothy and Co., along with local violinists Dan Laslo, Lou Fodor and Francis Duska, led a sing-along of favorite Christmas songs which got everyone in the holiday spirit. This was followed by csárdás and other dance music, which got everyone off their seats and onto the dance floor. Everyone, especially the children, had a good time. Our thanks go to the following for making this a special affair: Gabe and Irene Rozsa, Mary and Joe Tocash, Dan and Margaret Laslo, Bill and Helen Albert, Patty Bennett, Jim and Darla Kalman, Ethel and Lou Fodor, and numerous others. A big thank you goes to the National Officers and Board of Directors for the generous contribution to our party. A happy and healthy new year to all William Penn members. Branch 13 Trenton, NJ By Elsie H. Radvany Branch 13 Secretary Cold, blistery winter weather did not deter the members and children from attending the annual family Christmas party and election of officers held by Branch 13 on Dec. 10. The room was beautifully decorated with a Christmas tree, and the tables were nicely arranged, thanks to Margaret Hamari and her husband, Branch Vice President Joseph Hamari. The officers welcomed the members, parents, grandparents and children to the party. A delicious buffet was prepared and enjoyed by all. The children received gifts, coloring books, crayons and Christmas carol books. Everyone received a stocking filled with goodies plus pens, sponges and other items furnished by the Association. The afternoon was enjoyed by everyone in the true fraternal spirit. Branch President Frank J. Radvany extended Christmas greetings from the National Officers, Board of Directors, Auditing Committee and Branch 13 officers. We wish to express our most heartfelt thanks to the Home Office for the generous contribution towards our party. Branch 13 conducted its election of officers for 1996. The following were unanimously reelected: President Radvany; Vice President Hamari; Secretary Elsie H. Radvany; Treasurer Anthony C. Beke; and Controller Margaret Hamari. Stephen Barnacz duly installed the officers. Our monthly meetings are held on the third Monday of each month beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the American-Hungarian Democratic Club on South Clinton Avenue, Trenton.
