Branch 10 Barton, OH Branch 40 Martins Ferry, OH Branch 349 Weirton, WV By Louis A. Fodor National Director Our three branches, along with the Upper Valley Hungarian- American Cultural Society, held a fall szüreti bál Oct. 21 at Someplace Special in Martins Ferry. More than 100 people attended the affair. The tables were decorated with Indian corn and gourds, thanks to the efforts of Darla and Jim Kalman and their daughters. George Bátyi and his group supplied the music, featuring Anton Phillips on the cimbalom, Casey on the keyboards and Bill Csontos on the saxophone. Sitting in with the band were local musicians Dan Laslo, Lou Fodor, John Suto and Francis Duska. Everyone got into the spirit of the event, dancing and, later, joining in a sing-along led by the officers. A very good selection of foods was served, including goulash, cabbage noodles, kolasz and sauerkraut sandwiches and a variety of pastries. Our thanks go to those who helped make this event a success, namely Ethel Fodor, Mary and Joseph Tocash, Margaret and Dan Laslo, Mary and Gilbert Russ, Irene Ivan, Helen and Bill Albert, and Suzanne and Andy Suták.
