From July 31 to Aug. 6, the William Penn will conduct an intense, one-week Hungarian language workshop at its beautiful facilities at Penn Scenic View, located southeast of Pittsburgh in Rock wood, Pa. The camp will be open to only life-benefit members of the William Penn age 18 or older. Tentative plans call for instruction to be offered on both beginners and intermediate levels. The level (or levels) of instruction will be determined by the needs of those members expressing a sincere interest in attending the camp. Participants will receive a total of 25 hours of practical instruction from experienced teachers. The workshop will be limited to 25 students, thus allowing for greater individual attention for each student and more opportunities for useful exercises. The week will begin Sunday, July 31, with registration for all students at Scenic View. Students will be asked to arrive Sunday afternoon because classes will begin early Monday morning. From Monday through Friday, students will start their day with breakfast then meet for instruction. After a lunch break, students will reconvene for an afternoon instructional session. After dinner each day, all instructors and students will gather for special social activities, offering students more chances to practice their new skills. The camp will conclude on Saturday, Aug. 6. The cost for the week-including lodging, all meals, instruction and workshop materials—is only $200 per person. Clean linen and towels will be provided. Deadline for reservations is July 1. Reservations will be accepted on a first-come/first-served basis. Those whose reservations are received after the cut-off point will have the option of being placed on a waiting list in the order in which their reservations were received. A limited number of double room will be available on a firstcome/first-served basis. All other students will be housed in dormitory style accommodations. To reserve your space in our camp, complete the form found in this issue and mail it to the Home Office. Be sure to include your deposit of $50 per person with your form. The balance of the fee will be due July 1. For more information about the language camp, call the Home Office toll-free at 1-800-848- 7366. There will be a golfers reception Friday, July 15, at the hotel, featuring the popular putting contest for the benefit of the William Penn Fraternal Association Scholarship Foundation, Inc. The tournament will be played Saturday, July 16, and will include various skill shot contests, open to all golfers, located along the course. The big prize—a brand new 1994 automobile—will be awarded to the eligible golfer who scores an ace on the designated hole for the Hole-In-One contest. To be eligible for the hole-inone contest, a golfer must be a life-benefit member of the William Penn Association by June 1, 1994, with at least one year’s premium paid. The official program will conclude Saturday evening with the annual golf awards dinner at the hotel. The evening will also feature a big door prize giveaway and the exciting auction raffle for a set of new golf clubs. NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — Members and branches throughout the William Penn fraternal family are busy preparing their entry forms for the 51st Annual Bowling Tournament and Scholarship Days to be held in New Jersey over the Memorial Day weekend. Members interested in bowling at this year’s tournament should contact their local branch president or branch coordinator as soon as possible. The deadline for all entries is April 22. The tournament weekend itself will officially begin on Friday, May 27, with the annual meeting of the William Penn Fraternal Association Scholarship Foundation, Inc. After the meeting, a reception for all bowlers and guests featuring plenty of free food and refreshments will be held in the hotel.
