Branch 16 Perth Amboy, NJ By Meagan Mirkovich Branch 16 Reporter William Penn Branch 16 held its annual Christmas party Dec. 12. The event began with hot dogs and chips for everyone. Then Branch President George Mirkovich welcomed everyone, and Board Vice Chairman Michael Hrabar extended greetings from the Home Office. The children were entertained by Patti the Clown, who made balloon figures for everyone and led a competitive game of "hot potato” in which everyone left a winner. She finished by painting the children’s faces. We then joined in a sing-along, which featured a surprise guest popping in during the singing of the old favorite, "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town.” The day ended with a visit with Santa and treats for everyone. The party was a success with a turnout of 35 children and their families. The members of Branch 16 would like to thank everyone who helped make it such an exciting and eventful day. We look forward to another great party this year. Before the party Branch 16 elected its officers for 1993. They are: George Mirkovich, president; Mary Mészáros, vice president; Stephan Mészáros, secretary; and Annette David and Michaelene Mirkovich, auditors. During her Christmas break, branch member Melissa Mirkovich went on a trip to London with members of her band from Elizabethtown College and the Philadelphia Brass. This talented group performed in a New Year’s Day parade and at the Royal Albert Hall. Melissa enjoyed her trip, and we at Branch 16 are proud of her success in the music field.
