Goydan Branch 226 Coordinator Our election of branch officers took place on Dec. 15, 1990, at St. Stephen’s Church Hall. All officers for 1990 were unani­mously reelected to serve in 1991. Our officers are: John Sabo, president; Edward Rietski, vice president; Alexander J. Goy­dan, secretary; Violet Lenart, treasurer; and Bette Hoffman and Helen Domencic, auditors. Louis Seibert is president emeritus of Branch 226. The annual family Christmas party was held Dec. 16 at St. Stephen’s hall. A record number of children and adults were pre­sent for entertainment, refresh­ments and caroling. The children received gifts from Santa and his elf helper. Treasurer Violet Lenart also gave each child a grab bag gift. The caroling was led by pianist Helen Stipkovits and singers Joseph Szirmáé, Edward Rietski and Wil­­liam Markosky. Decorations and kitchen prepa­rations were handled by Bette Hoffman, Helen Domencic and Anna Mae Rietski. A catered luncheon buffet was enjoyed by all. The children also enjoyed and were awed by a magician. Greetings were extended to the guests by Branch President Sabo who introduced our special guests, National President E. E. Vargo and his wife Betty and National Secretary-Treasurer Frances A. Furedy. President Vargo expressed his appreciation for the invitation extended to him and his wife and briefly addressed the audience. Branch 249 Dayton, OH By Albert G. Kertesz Branch 249 Vice President We hope that all of our members had a joyous Christmas season, and that the new year will bring an abundance of good health, happiness and prosperity. To start the new year off on a positive note, I would like to suggest that our members review their life insurance certificates and those of their family mem­bers to determine if their coverage is sufficient. Branch 296 Springdale, PA By Ron Balia Branch 296 President William Penn Association Branch 296 held its annual Christmas party this past Decem­ber. A terrific time was had by all. A special thank you to Nation­al President E. E. Vargo and his wife Betty for taking time during such a busy season to attend our party. Election of branch officers was also held in December. Congratu­lations to our 1991 officers: Ron Balia, president; Ralph Schuller, vice president; Pauline Becsi, sec­retary; Anna Marie Pochan, treas­urer; and Sue Szalai, Jenny Weslie and Mary Wesoloski, auditors. Two of our branch members are recuperating at home. They are former Branch Treasurer James Mozga and President Emer­itus Elmer Charles. We wish them a speedy recovery. Wishing all a happy and heal­thy 1991.___________________ Branch 336 Harrisburg, PA The members of Branch 336 once again helped to brighten the holi­days in the Harrisburg area when they adorned a Christmas tree with traditional Hungarian candy and decorations in a downtown shopping mall. The Hungarian tree was part of the 1990 International Christmas Tree Festival at Strawberry Square. Christmas trees, each decorated in the traditions of a different ethnic group, stood around the first and second levels of the mall atrium from Nov. 18 to Jan. 11. Members gathered with repre­sentatives of other ethnic groups for an "ethnic tree trim” on the day before the display opened. Discussion will focus on the reestablishment of branch activities. Louis A. Fodor, Chairman of the National Auditing Committee and Branch 8285 Coordinator, will be on hand to answer any and all questions.
