October 1990, William Penn Life, Page 7 In Memóriám VERONICA STELKOVICS ROW AYTON, CT — The members of Branch 1 Bridgeport were saddened by the recent death of Veronica "Vera” Stelkovics, mother of retired National Secretary Albert J. Stelkovics. Mrs. Stelkovics died Aug. 8, 1990, in Fairfield Manor Health Care Center. She was 98. Mrs. Stelkovics was born Nov. 15, 1891, in Hungary, the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Szakacs. She immigrated through Ellis Island on May 22,1904. In 1910, she married her late husband Nicholas in a church they helped found, St. Ladislaus R. C. Church. She is survived by two sons, Albert of Pittsburgh and Walter of Rowayton; a daughter, Mary Upright of Darien, Conn.; five grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death in 1966. She also was preceded in death by three sons, Stephen, John and Vincent. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. Ladislaus. Burial was in Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Ladislaus R. C. Church, Cliff Street, South Norwalk, CT 06854.
