Fraternal insurance counsellors have been key builders of the fraternal benefit system and have contributed substantially to its growth and progress over the last 50 years. They have established and maintained high standards of ethical conduct in the profession of selling, underwriting and servicing fraternal life insurance. Fraternal insurance counsellors continuously strive to increase their knowledge of legal reserve life insurance, enabling them to render better service to members of their societies and to develop more successful sales methods. Throught the National Association of Fraternal Insurance Counsellors and its state chapters, FICs have the opportunity to exchange ideas with leading fraternal field representatives. They also work together to share their experiences and knowledge of fraternal life underwriting to improve the quality of service to members. In proclaiming May as FIC Month, NFCA President Edward A. The new agency, headed by Manager Antal J. "Tony” Szemerei, has opened offices in both Phoenix and Santa Rosa, Calif. It will be offering William Penn insurance and savings plans to residents throughout Arizona and California. "We are very excited about the potential for success in this area,” Mr. Szemerei said. "It will take a little time to really establish ourselves, but once we do, we should do very well, especially with the Provider Plan.” He noted that many Hungarian Americans live in the area, especially the Los Angeles area. "That should help us get started,” he said. The two offices presently employ seven full-time sales agents, whom Mr. Szemerei describes as "real go-getters.” "We’re not just going to sell insurance; we plan to spread the William Penn message. We want to become actively involved in the Hungarian community,” he said. Becoming involved in local Hungarian affairs should come naturally to Mr. Szemerei, who was born in Gyor, Hungary.
