Page 6, William Penn Life, May 1989 WPA Family Day scheduled for July 7 PITTSBURGH — Organizers are now coordinating the final details for the first-ever William Penn Family Day to be held Friday, July 7, at Kennywood Park in West Mifflin, Pa. The Association has reserved a large sheltered area of the park in which to hold a full schedule of family-related activities. Among these activities will be special games not only for children but also for adults in attendance. There will also be homemade Hungarian foods and a short program featuring Hungarian entertainment. Later in the day, guests will be able to enjoy dancing to the music of the George Bátyi Orchestra. Throughout the day members both young and old can enjoy the many fun and exciting rides at Kennywood. The park is famous for its roller coasters, most notably the Thunderbolt which is generally regarded as one of the most exciting coasters in the world. For the less adventurous, Kennywood offers a wide variety of games and live entertainment throughout the day and night. It also features a special area with rides for young children. Members attending Family Day will be able to purchase discounted, advance sale general admission and all-day ride tickets from the Home Office. More information on ticket sales will appear in next month’s William Perm Life. Correction The Branch 18 member pictured on Page 6 of our April issue is Jennifer Szatmári. We apologize to her and her mother, Darlene, for the error.
