The festival will be held on Sunday, Aug. 7, on the grounds of the William Penn Home for the elderly in Wellsburg. Festival Committee Chairman Paul T. Kovács said those attending this year’s festival will be able to participate in many fun and entertaining activities suitable for the entire family. There will be plenty of games of chance, raffles, special children’s games, folk art displays and live entertainment. Hungarian girl still recovering after transplant PITTSBURGH — Nikoletta Pecsvarady, the 4-year-old Hungarian girl who underwent two liver transplants earlier this year, continues her convalescence at the local Ronald McDonald House. "Niki” returns to Children’s Hospital each week where doctors monitor her progress. While away from the hospital, her father Kont checks her blood pressure and other vital signs and reports them back to the hospital. There is still no word on when Niki may be allowed to return to her home in Hungary. But there have been indications that she soon may be allowed to move in with her uncle, Thomas Pecsvarady of Middletown Township, N.J. It was Niki’s uncle who arranged to bring her and her father to the United States for the operations. Anyone wishing to help defray the cost of Niki’s medical expenses can send their donations to the William Penn Association Niki Fund, 709 Brighton Road, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15233. WELLSBURG, WV—The William Penn Home’s Cable Television Fund continues to climb closer to its goal as workers begin preparations for final installation of the cable system. Home Administrator Paul T. Kovács said installation will be completed by early July, but that more donations are needed to pay for the much-needed system. The cable television fund currently needs about $1,500 to reach its goal of $8,000. Recent donators to the fund include: John Hoffman of the Home-$150, Mrs. Ernest Bendzsuk of Hazelwood, Pa.-$100, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Horvath of Weirton, W.Va.-$20, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Toth of East Jewett, N.Y.-$15, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Vargo of Pittsburgh-$10, and Mrs. Andrew Wagner of Dehue, W.Va.-$10. The cable system is needed because current television reception at the Home is weakened by the Home’s location in the hills of West Virginia. The cable system would improve reception and add more entertainment options for the residents. Donations can be sent to Mr. Paul T.
