Banes has been appointed to serve on the National Fraternal Congress of America (NFCA) Committee on the Bi­centennial of the United States Constitution. The NFCA committee is among hundreds of such groups partici­pating in the 200th Anniversary celebration of the oldest constitu­tion in the world. The celebration began last April with the opening of the Tioga County Military History Exhibit and Constitution Display in Wellsboro, Pa., and will continue until sometime in 1988. Communities and organizations throughout the country are being urged to hold activities marking this important anniversary. The national celebration is being coordinated by the Com­mission of the Bicentennial of the United States Constitution in Washington, chaired by former U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice Warren Burger. Some of our members may be pleased to know that she speaks 'Veronica’s Veil’ to open PITTSBURGH — "Veronica’s Veil”, America’s Passion Play, will commence its 68th season of presentation on March 8 at St. Michael Auditorium, Pius Street, Pittsburgh. The famed production is a spoken drama and critics have been lavish in praising this richly staged drama as a delight and inspiration to audiences of all ages and faiths. The play will be presented every Saturday and Sunday during the Lenten season with afternoon and evening performances. Call 1-800-843-5678 National Center for Missing & Exploited Children Bowling set for May 22 TOLEDO, OH — William Penn members across the country are shining their bowling balls and lacing their bowling shoes in anti­cipation of the Association’s 44th Annual National Bowling Tourn­ament to be held in Toledo, Ohio, May 22-24. Entry forms have been prepar­ed and will be mailed to branch officers in plenty of time to meet the April 19 entry deadline. Tournament headquarters will be the new Hotel Sofitel in down­town Toledo. Room rates are $55 a night, single or double occupancy. The bowling competition will take place at Ducat’s Imperial Lanes, 5505 West Central Ave., Toledo. The team event will be held Saturday, May 23, with singles and doubles competition set for the following day. Bus transportation will be pro­vided for the ride between the hotel and bowling lanes. Last year, 56 teams converged in Pittsburgh for the tournament. Both Illinois Branch 15 and the Comets of Branch 18, Detroit, will be looking to defend the men’s team championship they shared in 1986. Also hoping to repeat last year’s victories will be men’s singles champ William Matthews of Harrisburg, Pa., women’s singles champ Dorothy Varga of New York and women’s team champ­ions M,M,M,M&lG of Branch 249, Dayton, Ohio. The tournament banquet will be held that Saturday evening at St. Stephen’s School Hall. The family-style dinner will feature a traditional Hungarian menu, in­cluding chicken paprikas, kolbász and other favorites. There will be entertainment and music for dancing provided. Those planning to attend the banquet are urged to make their reservations as soon as possible as seating will be limited. The tournament weekend will also feature the annual meeting of the William Penn Fraternal Association Scholarship Found­ation. The meeting will be held Friday, May 22, in the hotel. In addition to these activites, plans are in the works for a special cruise along the Maumee River. Visitors may also wish to enjoy Toledo’s many places of interest, including Portside, Tony Packo’s Restaurant and St. Stephen’s Church. Hosts for this year’s tourna­ment will be Branch 27, Toledo.
