Camp I Where children of c For the first time in five years, the lodge on the top the hill at our Mount St. George facility in Wellsburg W.Va., was opened, and the Camp Hungária ’87 program began. The Board of Directors this past year voted to allocate money in to order to spruce up the camp facilities and put it in useable condition. This summer, hundreds of people have been able tc enjoy the program, the lodge and the magnificent swimming pool. They have come from West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, New Jersey, New York and Illinois. There has been a mixture of young and ol all with one purpose in mind: to share and learn more about our Hungarian language and heritage. There was dancing, Hungarian violin music, gulyás spilled, szalon dropped into the fire, tears of joy and smiles of satisfaction when a folk art project was completed. At Camp Hungária, traditions were passed on to those who wanted to learn and were refreshed in the minds and hearts of others who had lost touch with these wonderful memories of their heritage. People stammered and stuttered but tried to speak Hungarian Elaine Sherman of Palos Height, III., fills up a bowl with gulyás right from the cast-iron kettle to serve to her husband, Ed.
