The afghan was crocheted by Ivy Parker, a resident of Mount St. George. This is the tenth year Mrs. Parker has created an afghan for the carnival. A drawing also will be held for inscriptions on the Memorial Honor Roll plaque. Contributions made for chances in this drawing will go directly to the Memorial Tribute Fund. Children can get in on the fun at the plush animal game stand. Young guests also can enjoy a visit from a clown or manifest their col­orful personalities at the face painting stand. Everyone will be able to relax on a traditional hay ride or cool off with a dip in the home’s swimming pool. The carnival also will feature a display of hand­made articles created by residents of the home. The Hungarian Ethnic Group of Western Pennsylvania will sponsor a display of Hungarian artifacts and cultural information. Guests looking for a good bargain can stop by the car­nival’s flea market, while From Page 1 those looking for a little excitement can view a horse race. Throughout the day, guests can satisfy their hunger with a variety of foods, including ham­burgers, hot dogs, grilled sausages, ice cream, cakes, soft drinks and beer. There also will be a barbeque chicken dinner. Last year’s carnival drew more than 1,500 members and guests. The Association is hoping for an even larger crowd this year. Members of the commit­tee organizing the carnival are: National President Gay B. Banes, Executive Vice President John F. Kenawell, National Secretary E.E. (AI) Vargo, National Director Roger Nagy, National Auditors Louis Fodor and Michael Kara, National Fraternal Director John Tusai, Assistant Treasurer Fred Maitz, Bill Arbanas, president of Branch 8020, McKees Rocks, Pa.; Glenn Johnson, president of Branch 8036, Scottdale, Pa.; Paul Kovács, administrator of Mount St. George; and Bob Wilt, maintenance supervisor at the home. tape. The tape will be shown during the cocktail hour that evening. Refreshments for golfers will be available at the ninth hole. The tournament will con­clude with the golf awards banquet at Jim Monzo’s Air­port Restaurant and Lounge at the Latrobe Airport in Latrobe, Pa. A cash bar will open at 6:30 p.m. with a sit­­down dinner following at 7:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded dur­ing the-banquet to a large portion of the tournament players based on the Calloway scoring system. Prizes will also be given for low gross scores (both men and women), skill shots, shots closest to the pin, shots closest to the line, longest putt and shortest drive. Door prizes also will be given to banquet guests. Visitors to the tournament will discover more than just a day full of golf. The Champion Lakes Golf Course is owned and manag­ed by Dick Groat, the former professional baseball player for the Pittsburgh Pirates and St. Louis Cardinals who played shortstop in two World Series victories. He plans to be at the course the day of the tournament. Another sports star, golf legend Arnold Palmer, lives just one minute from the restaurant hosting the ban­quet. His house will be mark­ed on a map sent to golfers. The tournament will also feature the town of Ligonier, a quaint, quiet country town located 55 miles east of Pittsburgh. It is the site of one of the battles of the British and Indian War. Fort Ligonier is a tourist attrac­tion and within walking distance of the Lord Ligonier Inn. Idlewild Park, Storybook Forest and Jumping Jungle are only five minutes away from town and are perfect places to take the family.
