William Penn Branch 18 Ladies Auxiliary Referring back to our November meeting, we were sorry to report that three of our Members were on crutches: Betty Soltész had surgery on a pinched nerve. Julia Tremble took a bad fall and injured her knee. Marge Penzes also fell down in her home and hurt her leg. Thank God they are all recovering nicely. Good health ot each one of them. It was nice to welcome Elvira and Les Kubovics at our November meeting. Then they left us along with the other Snowbirds to Sunny Florida, including Mary and Frank Kato and Julia Danko. Louise Vespremi, with brother Sam, traveled in November to White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, to a resort area known for “The Greenbrier," and continued to Hot Springs, Virginia, known for “The Homestead” resort where famous golfers go, and continued on to Beckley, W.Va. for a tour through the coal mines. Beautiful mountain scenery and a safe trip back. At our December meeting we were happy to report Irene Mazag’s recuperating from her illness. This was election meeting and all officers were again elected by acclamation. Our congratulations to each and every one of you. President Eleanor Kender, Vice President Ann Leny, Secretary Barbara House, Treasurer Margaret New, Auditors Mary Gebnar and Mary Boka. We sincerely wish everyone a Very Prosperous and healthy New Year. Our Christmas Dinner was again a huge success with a good dinner served by Steve Szatmári and his crew, our Hungarian and English singalong with Mistro Irene Gall at the piano and Louise Vespremi with her comic-strip characters made it a perfect evening. Sincere thanks to my officers and members for a job well done on the Christmas Raffle. Thus, providing our Annual donations to our many charities. On January 2, 1986, we were deeply saddened by the death of our dear member Helen Torok. She will be dearly missed. Our deepest sympathy to her daughter Helen, son and his family. A beautiful rose was placed beside her, while members surrounded her with prayers. A gift was presented in lieu of flowers to the bereaved family. Also our deepest sympathy to Mary Kato on the loss of her sister; to Julia Tremble on the loss of her brother Frank; to Eleanor Kender on the loss of her uncle, Frank Kasza. May they rest in Peace. A special get well goes out to our Secretary, Barbara House on her surgery. Please get well soon, Barb. We need you.
