A FRATERNAL HOLIDAY During the Thanksgiving Holidays, we had an opportunity to review all that we personally have to be grateful for. With this fresh in our minds, we now look forward to the Christmas Season with the desire to share our good fortune with those who are in need. This Holiday Season there are many who need our financial assistance and moral support. Visits to homes for the elderly, youth centers, and assistance to the handicapped, are ways we can give of ourselves. Donations to churches, service organizations (such as the Salvation Army), food banks or direct donations to needy individuals, are just a few examples of helping financially. William Penn Association Branches and members are well known for their generosity and Christmas spirit. Unfortunately, most Branches fail to report their fraternal work. Taking pictures and sending articles to be published in the William Penn Life is also very important. The Holiday activities performed by you and your Branch not only deserve recognition but by publicizing your actions with articles and pictures, when possible, may encourage others to join in the Christmas Spirit and show the true meaning of fraternalism. May God grant you and your families a Blessed Christmas and a prosperous New Year filled with Fraternal Love. ABELS, CHARLES, AND WAHL ELECTED TO STATE POSTS We are proud to announce that the William Penn is well represented in the State Chapter of the Fraternal Insurance Counselors. Ron Abels, FICF was elected President of the State Chapter along with George Charles, FIC as Secretary-Treasurer and Daniel R. Wahl, FIC as a Director. We wish each of these fine men the best for their one-year terms and we’re sure they’ll do a fine job. Ron Abels was also elected to the National Board of the Fraternal Field Managers Association. Notice to All William Penn Members and Branches The Centennial Committee of our Society is seeking old records of branch activities or Minute Books of branches which you may have in your possession. These may be stored in attics or garages. We also want artifacts, uniforms, badges, ribbons or pictures of your branches and Hungarian activities held in your community. We want not only William Penn, Verhovay, Rákóczi, Knights of St. George artifacts, but any of the societies which have merged with us in the last fifty years. These are most important for our Centennial, historical records and proposed museum. The William Penn Association will pay the shipping cost. Please write or call Mr. Gay Banes at the Home Office if you have any questions.
