BOARD FOR VISIT — Members of Branch 8020 of McKees Rocks, Pa. boarded a bus for a visit to Mt. St. George’s annual carnival in Wellsburg, W. Va. McKees Rocks, Pa. A luncheon was held at Sgro’s Restaurant and was attended by members of Branch 8020 and officers of the William Penn Association, in­cluding National Treasurer John L. Lovász; Executive Vice President John F. Kenawell and National Fraternal Director John A. Tusai. The branch members attend­ing were President Bill Arbanas, his wife Verna, and Charles Arbanas. Guests were James Moore, Mr. & Mrs. Lawrence Halaja, Judge David Cercone, Linda Kenawell and Betty lams, friend of John L. Lovász. There were also many organizations and civic groups represented. Bill Arbanas was commend­ed for his work as a Board Member for ten years with Robinson Development Center, which houses 132 severely re­tarded adults in McKees Rocks, Pa. A certificate was presented to Bill from the Home Office. John Paul DellaCamera, voice of radio of the Pittsburgh Spirit Soccer Team was toastmaster. Many thanks to the William Penn Association for supporting the Robinson Development Center. On May 5th, a farewell lunch­eon was held for Father Thomas Kirby former Pastor of St. Francis de Sales Church. He was presented with a Cer­tificate of Appreciation. Branch 8020 On Sunday, July 28, a bus­load of approximately 50 people headed down to Wellsburg, West Virginia for the Mt. St. George Carnival. Bill Arbanas, Charles Arbanas and Lawrence Halaja sold tickets for the Bushel of Cheer, which was. won by Albert Stelkovics, National Vice President. A donation of baked goods from four bakeries in McKees Rocks was given to the Carnival to sell. Sunday, August 5, the Branch attended a dedication at the Mt. St. George Home for which they donated $1,000.00. This room will be a memorial for all the deceased and living members of the former Catho­lic Knights of St. George, now the William Penn Association. Another room will also be dedicated in memory of our deceased member and friend, Ed Bukowski, which was pur­chased by his wife, Theresa. Branch 150 Masontown, Pa. HONOR ROLL — Members of the William Penn Association are shown at an Honor Roll to be dedicated in Masontown, Pa. on Nov. 10. Shown from left are Louis Jesso, Branch Manager; Tom Smearcheck and Pete Smargie. They comprised the committee chairmanship that helped bring about completion of the project. The inscription on the memorial reads “In Honor of All the Brave Men and Women Who Served Their Country in All Wars and Conflicts.” Julius Jesso and William Dunham and Emil Jesso, Thomas Jesso, Joseph Jesso, Steve Jesso, Mrs. Bertha Mrazek, Marino Piertini and Ed Király. Meanwhile the Branch is now actively planning its annual Christmas party. The Branch will hold its annual Halloween party for children 12 years of age and under on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 3 p.m. at the Pal’s Community Hall. Plans are also in progress for the annual Christmas party with the date to be announced. Blood Donors Draw Thanks An expression of apprecia­tion for the donation of blood by donors who are employees of the William Penn Association was recently received from the Central Blood Bank of Pitts­burgh by John L. Lovász, treasurer. Marcy Braunstein, a field representative for the Bank, noted that 13 employees had responded to the plea for blood. In her letter to Mr. Lovász, she noted “You can be sure that the recipients of your blood donations will sincerely appre­ciate this contribution of life.” She also explained that patients have one common need: to be given that which we can provide for them voluntarily and unself­ishly — one unit of blood in ex­change for a lifetime of hope. Fraternal Activities Members of Branch 150 have been actively engaged in a community project to honor the memory of the brave men and women who served the nation in various wars and conflicts. A memorial to the men and women will be dedicated on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 3 p.m. on the Pal’s Club property in Bessemer, Masontown. The memorial, now nearing comple­tion, will have cost $2,500. Members of Branch 150 who have contributed time and money to the project include President Louis C. Nagy, Vice- President Joseph Dalnoky, Secretary David Jesso, Branch Manager Louis Jesso, Auditors Help Us Help Others The William Penn Association is asking each Branch to donate a turkey basket during the Thanksgiving Season to an underprivileged family within their Branch area.
