He attended St. Augustine and Lawrenceville Catholic Elementary School and was graduated from St. Fidelis High School Seminary in Herman, Pa. AGENCY HONOREES — Dan Wahl, manager of the Greater Pittsburgh Agency, honored three of his agents for their outstanding efforts in 1984. St. Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, Maryland where he received the degrees of Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Systematic Theology. Fr. Chepponis celebrated his first Mass of thanksgiving at his home parish of St. Joseph Church in the Bloomfield sec­tion of Pittsburgh. Birthday Party Branch 18, Ladies Auxiliary On March 9, 1985 white tablecloths and lovely flower centerpieces adorned the William Penn Social Club for the birthday of our longtime William Penn member William (Bill) Kocsis. This beautiful party was given by wife Betty and daughter Margie and son-in-law Frank Solar. A delicious meal and pastries were served by Steve Szatmári. Many relatives, out of town guests, (from Reverend Conard and Harrow, Canada) plus wonderful friends shared in celebrating Bill’s “76th” birthday. He was honored as “King of all the Birthday Boys!” along with white cape and crown. Special recognition was made by Vice Pres. Andy Toth and Vice Pres. Steve P. Danko wishing Happy Birthday from Branch 18 and to all other members with birthdays in March. Thanks Bill, for all the precious years of happiness and love that you have given Branch 18 and Ladies Auxiliary. May you have many more Birth­days in Good Health and God Bless each day of your life. At our April 15th Auxiliary meeting we welcomed back Mary Csanyi from a long illness. We wish you good Health and God Bless you Mary. Also welcomed back were Mary Kato, Marge Penzes, Marge Benke and Julia Danko from Sunny Florida. We are happy to announce that we have two new members as of April. Welcome, Rose Krumm and Darlene Mont­gomery to our fellowship. We do meet every third Monday of each month except for July and August. So come join us Ladies. On our sick list, we are glad to see that Margaret New’s operation on her hand is heal­ing nicely. As our Treasurer, Margaret, we need you and your hand to carry us thru. Also our longtime member Mary Mohácsi is in a nursing home and our Esther Nagy’s hus­band, Pete, is still very ill. Member Anna Toth sends her love to all — due to ailing health is unable to attend our meetings. God Bless them all and may they be renewed with God-given strength for each new day. Our deepest heartfelt sym­pathy goes out to our Vice President, Ann Leny and her dear family on the sudden death of her grandson,Joseph Szalai. May he rest in Peace and our prayers to the family. Eleanor Kender Branch 18, Wyandotte, Ml The beautiful spring weather is finally here and the Branch has many activities planned. The bowlers are making their final arrangements for the Na­tional Bowling Tournament in Alliance, Ohio. Ten (10) teams will be representing Branch 18. On June 22nd the branch will honor the fifty years members with a banquet after the dinner citations will be awarded. On June 24th a card party will be held with the proceeds going towards the restoration of the Statue of Liberty. Admission and raffle tickets are available from any Branch officer or the Club. Golfers are making prepara­tions for attending the National Golf Tournament in Alliance, Ohio on July 13th. The Branch will sponsor a mixed golf tournament in August, details will be printed in the next issue. Various committees are be­ing appointed for the William Penn Centennial celebration in April, 1986. We would like to make this a celebration to remember. We are very proud of our Hungarian Dance Group, they have been much in demand. Recently they performed at Necrology McKeesport, Pa. ANNE WINTER SIEBERT, wife of our Branch President, Louis L. Siebert, died on January 1, 1985 after a short illness. Anne was a very active member of Branch 226 for many years. She served as Auditor, was a member of our Bowling League, attended many of our National Bowling Tournaments as a contestant, assisted eagerly at all Branch activities such as the Branch Scholarship dinners, Branch 226 Regional and the National Golf Tournament dinners, and was the greatest at our Annual Family Christmas affairs. The success of our Branch affairs was greatly due to the wonder­ful cooperation and untiring effort Anne put into them. She is survived by her hus­band, Louis L. Siebert; daughters Annamae and Patricia; son-in-laws Edward Rietski and Anthony Brusco; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Anne was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and will be missed very much, not only by her Family, but by the Of­ficers and members of Branch Holy Cross Church; on April 26th they will perform at Cran­­brook Institute; on May 11th at the Hungarian-American Cul­tural Center; on Dec. 7th at the Knights of Columbus, Robert Jones Council. The dance group is under the tutorship of Darlene Szatmári. On Saturday, April 22nd Kathleen Jagadics exchanged marriage vows with J. Kenneth LaViola at Martha-Mary Chapel, Greenfield Village. The bride is the daughter of Branch Secretary, Mathilda Jagadics. The reception was held at the Branch Hungarian Club where an excellent dinner was prepared by Steve Szatmári and Judy Baylin. Thank you Steve & Judy and thanks to Sharon, Joy, Kathy and Shelly who did a wonderful job of serving. We wish Kathy & Ken the best of happiness. Larry Semetko, coordinator of the project, in a letter to the Branch, noted that the William Penn Club has been involved in an exciting and innovative pro­gram since October 1944 with the Madison School in Wyan­dotte, one that services the trainable mentally impaired (TMI). TMI’s are defined as hav­ing one third to one half a normal intelligence quotient. Semetko asked Stephen Danko, president of the Branch, if a supported work crew could be of service to the William Penn Club. Mr. Danko was affirmative in his response. Every Tuesday morning Ms. Carol Miller, project trainer, arrives with a number of the Madison students bent on cleaning the clubhouse.
