Kraus, Jr., 17, of 318 John St., St. Mary’s Pa., has accepted an appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado. Gary graduated Summa Cum Laude from Elk Co. Christian High School on May 20 and was presented excellence in overall Social Studies and the Air Force Academy Scholarship. Gary also par­ticipated in basketball, track and foot­ball. At the high school All-Sports Banquet, Gary was awarded the Paul Sidoni Memorial Award as he excelled as a three sport athlete, the Scholar- Athlete Award and the Basketball Coach’s Award. Gary has also been presented the U.S. Army Reserve Athlete-Scholar Award and Certificate of Merit. He has been active locally in Boy Scouts, E.C.C.H.S. Action Club, St. Mary’s Parish altar boy, Rotary In­teract Club, Boys Club of America, Special Olympic Volunteer, National Honor Society and served as Vice President of his senior class. He is a member of Branch 121 and the grand­son of Mrs. Amanda Kraus. Carolyn A. Kenawell, models the gown that she designed and made for her senior prom, as an art project. The gown, along with a comforter and pillow shams also designed and made by Carolyn, were in the Richland High School art show and were selected to be displayed in the Three-Rivers Arts Festival in Pittsburgh. Carolyn is the daughter of Executive Vice President John F. Kenawell and Linda M.
