From the Pittsburgh Agency, they were: Joseph Barreiro, F.I.C., who was accompanied by his wife, Alice; Michael Komar; Samuel Sulkosky, who was accompanied by his fiancee, Karen Smith; Andrew Uzonyi, who was accompanied by his wife, Anita and Daniel Wahl, F.I.C., who was accompanied by his wife, Mary Jean. Agent Joseph Barreiro and Ron Abels. From the Cleveland Agency; Emma Oris and Dawn Ward. Since neither Emma or Dawn were able to attend, their awards were accepted by Rose Telegdy of the Cleveland Agency. Also, congratulations are extended to Andrew Tatar, Agency Manager in New York, for having written 1 40 sales. Emma Oris received the runner-up sales award for face amount of insurance written; Sam Sulkosky received the runner-up sales award for number of sales written and Andrew Uzonyi received the runner-up sales award for the most premium written. Roger Nagy —One of Six New Directors On William Penn Association Board By Barbara Botkin Roger Nagy is one of six new persons elected to the William Penn Association twelve member Board of Directors, at its 30th Convention last September. Nagy, a resident of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, is Supervisor of Computer Systems Planning for Consolidated Natural Gas in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The 40 year old Director holds a B.S. degree in education, in the field of mathematics, from California State College. Fie is presently attending the University of Pittsburgh School of Engineering and will graduate in August 1 984, with a masters in Energy Resources. Since his election to the Board, Nagy has taken an active role in the inner workings of the Association's business operations. Nagy is Chairman of the five member William Penn Association Computer Committee, formed to study present computer operations at the Home Office and to explore innovations in the computer field for the Association's future benefit. To a great extent it was through the efforts of the Computer Committee, headed by Nagy, that the Board of Directors was able to secure a four year computer service contract at a considerably lower cost to the William Penn Association than in the past. The contract was negotiated at the recent March Board of Directors meeting. Manager in the Cleveland office, received the runner-up award for Agency Manager for 1983. Dan Wahl was recognized as outstanding sales representative for 1 983 for the William Penn Association. He led in every category— production, sales, face amount of insurance written and most premium written. Ron Abels, F.I.C., was recognized as Outstanding Agency Manager for 1983. Agent Andrew Uzonyi and Ron Abels. I would personally like to extend my congratulations to all of the career sales people for their outstanding sales achievements for 1 983. Also, I want to thank all of the members of the William Penn family for attending the dinner and making it such a successful event. RON ABELS, F.I.C. National Sales Director Nagy is also a member of the Mount St. George Land and Home Corporations Committee and the Mount St. George Cemetery Association. The Committee is responsible for overseeing the Mount St. George property in Wellsburg, West Virginia, which was acquired through the merger of the Catholic Knights of St. George into the William Penn Association. It is a 500 acre plus property on which stands a home for the elderly, a recreational lodge, retreat house and swimming pool. It is, and will continue to be in the future, a great fraternal benefit to William Penn Assocation members. Nagy is a member of the Pittsburgh Chapter of ACM, a computing society and the Pittsburgh Area Computer Club. A sportscar enthusiast, he has been active in sportscar clubs in Pittsburgh and was president of North Hills Sportscar Club for two years. The Duquesne, Pennsylvania native is married to the former Donna Yakin of Bentleyville, Pennsylvania. They have two children, Gregory, age 14 and Sara, age 9. Nagy has been a member of the William Penn Association since his childhood. His parents have been William Penn Association members for more than three decades. Nagy, Sr. is presently serving as National Secretary to the Association. 7
