Mr. Perenyi was Santa Claus and distributed the presents that were made possible with the help of the Home Office. This was a good opportunity to introduce Mr. Roka, the new Branch Manager, who was accepted with great pleasure and we wish him success. We all thank the William Penn for making this Christmas Party possible and we wish all a very Happy New Year. Our very successful Family Christmas Party was held on Sunday, December 13, at 2:30 p.m. in the Social Hall of St. Stephen’s Church on Beacon Street in McKeesport. As in the previous year, Branch Officers and Committee members spent the entire Saturday afternoon decorating and setting up tables to accommodate 100 or more persons. On Sunday, around 2:30 p.m., our guests began to arrive and the brightly decorated Christmas tree, the table settings with red tablecloths, holly, pine cones, and candle center pieces, put everyone in a holiday spirit. Due to favorable weather, we had a good attendance, children, parents, and proud grandparents. The children were entertained with a Christmas performance by Jane and Jeff Howell, Linda Carrolla from Pittsburgh, and of course, the main attraction was Cleo, the pekeapoo, a member of the troop. Cleo was the adorable little puppy. Needless to say, when Cleo appeared on the stage, the children all tried to catch and hold her. A violin solo followed, performed by Diane Neidigh, a young Branch member. This was enthusiastically applauded by all! Christmas carols followed—sung by all present. Then the big moment—Santa appeared with a brisk Ho-Ho-Ho. This was the climax of the party. Each child re-Santa Claus (Louis Siebert, 6r. 226 President) with Mrs. Linderman and grandson, Mark attending his first Christmas party as a new member. Retired Col.
