Minutes of the Annual Scholarship Meeting . . . Minutes of the Annual Meeting of the William Penn Fraternal Association Scholarship Foundation, Inc., Friday, May 22, 1981 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, O'Hare Airport. 1) Mr. Elmer Charles, President, calls the meeting to order at 6:00 P.M. He thanks Mr. Louis L. Varga, Vice President, for conducting the annual meeting last year in Dayton, Ohio. He is pleased with the generous contributions made at the last meeting and looks forward to the same generosity this year. He is proud of the achievements of the Foundation because it provides for our youthful members and the future of our William Penn Association is in the youth of today. He extends welcome to all. 2) Secretary Szilagyi reads the roll and the following members are present: John P. Balia, Emma Balia, Emma Beganyi, James Beganyi, Gay B. Balia. There is a quorum present. 3) President reports that the Executive Committee will meet in July to consider Scholarship grants for 1981/82. 4) Mr. Gus G. Nagy makes his report. Report is accepted and is attached to and becomes a part of these Minutes. There is available $16,421.88 for Scholarship Grants for this academic year. Mr. Charles thanks the William Penn Board for rounding out the 61 Scholarships. 5) Secretary Szilagyi reads the report of the Nominating Committee: REPORT OF NOMINATING COMMITTEE Chairman: Members of the William Penn Fraternal Association Scholarship Foundation, Inc.: Our By-Laws, Article V, Section 2, provides that not less than seven, nor more than nineteen Directors be elected at the annual meeting of the Foundation. The Nominating Committee, consisting of the Officers and Executive Committee Members, as established by a previous annual meeting, propose that the following be elected Directors of the William Penn Fraternal Association Scholarship Foundation, Inc., for a one year term: Frank Bero, Emma Beganyi, Stephen Danko, Zoltán B. Emri, Charles Fabian, Louis A. Fodor, Michael Hegedűs, Michael Hrabar, Michael Kara, William C. Kohut, Albert G. Kertesz, Stephen Lang, Steve Lesco, Gus G. Nagy, Frank J. Nagy John Sabo Stephen T. Szilagyi Motion is made and seconded that the Report of the Nominating Committee be accepted. Chairman Charles calls for further nominations from the floor. Hearing none, he requests the Secretary to cast one ballot for the unanimous election of the Nominees for Directors as presented by the Nominating Committee. Secretary Szilagyi casts the ballot and the Nominees are declared to be elected for a one year term as Board Members. 6) Secretary Szilagyi reads the Minutes of the May 23, 1980 annual meeting.
