They also pledged allegiance to the Hungarian Flag in Hungarian. 3) President Charles called on Rt. Rev. Dr. John Butosi of Bridgeport, Connecticut, Auxiliary Bishop of the Calvin Synod, to offer the invocation. Rev. Butosi read a few verses from the Epistle of James. "First Chapter, Fifth Verse." "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God who gives to all man liberally and upbraideth not, and it shall be given him, but let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that waverth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways." He offered the following invocation: “Lord as we start this meeting and deliberations of momentous issues we turn to you and ask in all humility for that wisdom which does not puff up, but humbles ourselves and makes us instruments of your services. Lord, we know that when we claim all wisdom, we only separate ourselves from you, but when we humbly admit our ignorance and our dependence on you, then you are able to use us. This is not a usual meeting. We know what great issues we have to discuss and we would like to be your instrument. This is why we ask for humility and wisdom that comes from you. Help us, 0 Lord, not to open the roses with a razor blade, but to wait for the sunshine when it opens up because the time of the roses arrived. O Lord, we would tike to do so much for the common good of the Hungarian people. We may be impatient and we may try to do it in our own way, but we ask you today to watch us, knowing that regardless how we try to build a house, if you do not build it, it will never be built, so grant us that wisdom, O Lord, which is full of your love, full of your long suffering, full of your patience, full of your hope, and grant that we would not be defeated in our dreams and visions for we are not dreaming our dreams and not manufacturing our visions, but we are trying to be obedient in your plan and in your dreams. Grant, 0 Lord, to this Board of Directors meeting that your spirit, your guidance, that we may one day rejoice in your victory and praise your holy name through Jesus Christ, Our Lord. " Amen. 4) Vice President, Louis L. Varga, offered Father’s Day greetings to the members present. He read a poem by Robert Louis Stevenson. “That man is a success who has lived well, laughed often and loved much; Who has gained the respect of intelligent men and the love of children; Who has filled his niche and accomplished his task; Who leaves the world better than he found it. Whether by an improved poppy, a perfect poem or a rescued soul; Who never tacked appreciation of earth 's beauty or failed to express it; Who looked for the best in others and gave the best he had.
