Mr. Frank J. Wukovits, Sr., Honorable Roger O. Parent, Mayor of South Bend and Mr. Albert J. Stelkovics. high ideals and provide recreation for our Youth. Mr. Stelkovics mentioned that there will also be a facility to accommodate the needs of our senior members. President, Frank J. Wukovits, Sr. then presented the Honorees with a gift from Branch 132, thanking them on behalf of the members for the many years of dedication and hard work in serving the Hungarian cause. Mr. Wukovits then spoke of the efforts of the William Penn Ladies Auxiliary over the years emphasizing the many times they demonstrated their dedication. He spoke of how they assisted the Hungarian orphans after World War II, by adopting 50 orphans themselves, whom they aided financially and spent many months sewing clothing which they would ship to Hungary each week. Another project was started after the 1956 Hungarian Revolt. They assisted over 400 refugees, bringing them to South Bend Community, finding them lodging, clothing, food and even employment. The closing benediction was delivered by Msgr. Elmer G. Peterson, Pastor of St. Stephen’s Church. Dancing followed till midnight. Mr. Albert J. Stelkovics, and Mrs. Joseph Sari. Branch 249 Dayton, Ohio The memorable days of our National Bowling Tournament and Scholarship Days, held in Dayton on May 23, 24 and 25, have come and gone. It was entirely our pleasure to serve as host city for this grand affair. The many acknowledgements of thanks and “Congratulations for a job well done”, are certainly appreciated and makes it all worth while. The primary reason behind the successful tournament weekend is the result of a most helpful and compatible local committee. I would like at this time to thank each and everyone who assisted in any manner at all toward its success. John and Claudia Belme, John and Margaret Demeter, Frank and Alberta Hoffer, Steve and Margaret Horvath, Val and Jan Kaskocsak, Elsie and Bernard Kender, Joe, Anne Marie and A1 Kertesz, Jr., John and Mary Motko, Mike and Betty Meyerchak, Charles and Betty Sipos, Ed and Mary Smithson, Louis and Ann Taylor, and of course, my wife, Anne, who was a tremendous help to me in my duties. I would also like to thank all those who came from near and far to partake in our celebration; to my coadministrators, Gus G. Nagy, John P. Balia, and their wives, Betty and Emma, for all their assistance. Last but not least, to the National Board of Directors and National Officers, for their support, and for selecting our city for the 1980 Tournament site. Steve Horvath is currently formulating a “William Penn Bowling League” in anticipation of traveling to Chicago to the 1981 National Bowling Tournament. Kertesz Branch 590 Cape Coral, Fla. Meeting came to order April 27, 1980 at 4:00 P.M. Branch Manager Anthony Noel informed the members that in the near future, Stephen T. Szilagyi, William Penn Sales Representative of Marketing will be visiting our branch to contact and make arrangements with Ronald Birnbaum, so that his agency would be given the opportunity 18
