The groups performance, once again, was greatly received by the people of Flint whose enthusiasm and warm hearts make it so enjoyable for our group to perform for them. Thank you, Flint, for being such nice people. Home again, the group performed for huge audiences at the German and Hungarian Festivals which were held at the Yack Arena. Now, they are working very hard, having double practices each week, for their upcoming performances; the Hungarian Fertival in Flint, MI, August 5th and the Ethnic Festival in Toledo, Ohio, August 19th. (Continued from Page 9) Beside these performances, the William Penn Dancers are having a Dinner-Dance of their own for Muscular Dystrophy, Saturday, August 25th. Benefits from the Dinner- Dance will be donated to the M.D. Association. This big event will begin at 7:00 P.M.-12:00 Midnight at the Hungarian Reformed Church in Allen Park, Mich. A buffet dinner will be served along with all the set-ups and beer you can drink. For you non-beer drinkers B.Y.O.B. Joe Balint and his Orchestra will provide the dinner and dance music for the evening and you will be entertained by our dancers. Tickets for this Dinner-Dance are $12.50 per person and are available from any dancer, or by phoning Darlene Szatmári (instructor) or Stephen Szatmári, manager of the William Penn Social Club at 381-9881 We ask for your support in making this first event for our young dancers a great success. Anyone interested in joining the group, please contact Darlent Szatmári at the number above. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Soter are beaming with “pride”, as their son Joseph Soter became a graduate architect this spring from Oklahoma State University. While other architecture students decorate the area near their campus drawing tables with such goodies as a year’s worth of pin-ups, our young man has surrounded himself with posters of jet planes and space ships, piles of books and articles on space, and even an inflatable model blimp. By 1990 or so, he would like to be known as one of the first extraterrestrial architects. To begin preparing for his own place in space, Joe has elected to design a space science museum for his professional project. This plan would call for such facilities as a zero-gravity ride and a centrifuge planitarium where visitors would be spun around and “feel the acceleration of lift-off”. Congratulations to you Joe, in your worthwhile achievement. Congratulations to you also, Betty and Joe. We know you are very proud of your son, “the architect”. 10
