Pennsylvania, sent letter of greetings and well wishes, NOW, THEREFORE, BE AND IT IS RESOLVED that National Presi­dent Elmer Charles, on behalf of the 29th General Convention, send a thank you letter to President Carter and Governor Thornburg. WHEREAS, the Honorable Harvey Bartle, III, Insurance Commissioner, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, took the time to honor us with his presence and to deliver a tremendous speech at our Convention Banquet. NOW, THEREFORE, BE AND IT IS RESOLVED that Mr. Bartle be sent a letter of thanks for addressing our General Convention. WHEREAS, Rev. Imre Kovács, Pastor, United Church of Christ, Springdale, Pa. offered the invocation at the Convention Banquet, and WHEREAS, this invocation instilled in all of us the sense of true brotherhood, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that our appreciation be expressed to Rev. Imre Kovács for this invocation. WHEREAS, Rev. Father Paul Bolvary, Pastor, St. Ann’s Hungarian Roman Catholic Church, Hazelwood, Pa. gave the benediction in Hungarian at the Convention Banquet, BE IT RESOLVED that our ap­preciation be expressed to Father Bolvary. WHEREAS, during the Convention Banquet we were privileged to hear several excellent greetings, BE IT RESOLVED that this General Convention extend thanks to the following for having dignified our Banquet program. Rev. Arpad George, President, Hungarian Reformed Federation of America, Washington, D.C.; Mr. Zoltán Gombos, Editor-Publisher, Népszava and Szabadság; Judge Nicholas Cipriani, President, Penn­sylvania Fraternal Congress; Mr. Ray­mond Klee, Executive Vice President, National Fraternal Congress of America; Mr. August J. Molnár, Presi­dent, American-Hungarian Founda­tion; András Kasnyik, Consul General, Hungarian People's Republic. WHEREAS, the Convention Delegates were honored with a Ban­quet, Delegates and their family members being guests of the Associa­tion, NOW, BE IT RESOLVED, that a rising vote of thanks be given to the Officers, Directors and Banquet Com­mittee for their consideration and generosity, WHEREAS, the Banquet Program was presented in such a fine manner by the Toastmaster, BE IT RESOLVED that our ap preciation be extended to National President Elmer Charles for doing such an excellent job as Toastmaster. WHEREAS, our stay at the William Penn Hotel was made pleasant and comfortable by the Management and Staff of the William Penn Hotel, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Convention ex­press thanks to the Staff of the William Penn Hotel. WHEREAS, our 29th General Con­vention concluded its business in three days, and WHEREAS, this was made possible through the efforts of the Officers, Ex­ecutive Committee and Board of Direc­tors, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this 29th General Convention give a rising vote of thanks to Chairman Elmer Charles and Vice Chairmen John P. Balia and Louis L. Varga for the efficient and fair manner in which the meetings were conducted. I move that the Report of the Resolution Committee be accepted. Stephen G. Danko, Chairman Frank J. Wukovits, Jr. Barbara Banes Botkin Alex Chobody Cindy Hartman Anthony Noel Louis Jesso It was moved, seconded and unanimously adopted by the delegates. 78) Barbara Banes Botkin presented the following resolution pertaining to Alternate Directors sitting in on the Board of Directors meetings. RESOLUTION Whereas, we the members of the Association are concerned for the future welfare of our great organiza­tion, And, Whereas, by an act of God one or more vacancies could occur at any time on the Board of Directors, Be It Resolved by the Convention that the Convention recommend that the first and second alternate directors be invited and encouraged to sit in on meetings of the Board so that they would be well prepared to fill vacant positions in time of emergency. Chairman Charles suggests that this resolution be referred to the Board of Directors and National Officers. The Resolution was unanimously referred to the Board of Directors for con­sideration. 79) The following resolution recom­mending more women fill the offices for the office of Director. RESOLUTION Whereas, women are an integral part of the work force today and many hold important positions in the business world . . . many of these women surely could offer much knowledge and ex­perience to the Association. Therefore, be it resolved that the Convention recommend that the Association work to place women on the Board of Directors in the future. Mr. Charles, Chairman of the Con­vention, ruled the resolution out of order, because the Convention has already elected two women to the Auditing Committee and there are several women as Alternate Board Members and Alternate Auditing Committee Members. 80) Delegate Barbara Banes Botkin submitted the following resolution per­taining to golf and tennis tournaments.
