Mrs. Ethel Sabo presenting gift to Margaret Linderman. Branch 39 Beaver Falls, was held on Sunday, December 11, in the Duquesne Golf Club in West Mufflin. In spite of the inclement weather, the attendance was good. Entertainment consisted of the singing of Christmas Carols, and the appearance of Audrey Ross, of the Mister Rogers television program, was a pleasant surprise to the youngsters who, evidently, were viewers of this daily children’s program. The children were more than glad to enthusiastically participate with Miss Ross in singing and acting along with her and the “Purple Bear” in her various skits. Later, they all received autographed photos of Miss Ross. Refreshments were served and then the big moment—Santa arrived to present each child with a box of chocolates and a shiny silver dollar. The children seemed most receptive to the gifts, the entertainment and the party as a whole. The Officers of the participating branches were present to assist in making this a successful venture. Following the Children’s Party, the Officers and adult members of the branches involved enjoyed an excellent dinner at the Duquesne Golf Club in the true spirit of fraternal fellowship. May this fine cooperation and working relationship continue in our branches for many years to come. It is our pleasure to extend to all members of the William Penn Association our very best wishes for a New Year abundant with happiness and good health. Violet B. Lenart Branch 230 Terre Haute, Ind. Mr. Michael Sneer, who for many decades was the Secretary and Manager of Branch 230, Terre Haute has resigned due to ill health. Unfortunately there is no one at the present time willing to take office at the Branch, therefore as a temporary measure, the Home Office has assigned the management of Branch 230 affairs to Mr. Frank J. Wukovits Sr., National Director and Manager of Branch 132, South Bend, Indiana. Members of Branch 230 can correspond directly with the Home Office or through Mr. Frank J. Wukovits at 1024 West Indiana Ave., South Bend, Indiana - 46613. Telephone (219) 287-8245. The Joy Felföldi Reboulet School of Dance again provided an excellent program for the enjoyment of all along with a piano recital by Joey Demeter, one of our juvenile members and an outstanding musician. There were treats for everyone in attendance. A heartfelt thanks to all who helped make this affair a grand occasion, especially Betty Mayerchak. The very popular William Penn Hungarian Cook Books are still available from our Branch. Price is still only $2.00, and you can obtain yours by contacting any Branch Officer. Plans are already being formulated for our 1978 trip to Hungary. A number of our local members have already indicated a desire to participate.
