Election of officers of our branch for 1978 was held on Sunday, December, 4, 1977. All outgoing officers were re-elected. They are as follows: President, Andrew Nemeth; Vice President, Sándor Lakatos; Secretary, Ernest Mozer; Treasurer, Frank Zimmermann. Auditors, Mrs. Helen Lakatos and Joseph Baumgartner. Our annual Christmas party for the children of the Branch was a very exciting event. The children were held spellbound by the magic tricks performed by a wonderful 15 year old magician by the name of Danny Beckmann. His tricks were performed in a real professional manner. Not one child left his seat during the performance. That goes for the parents and other guests too. After the entertainment, which lasted 45 minutes was over, the children and guests joined in the singing of Christmas carols to welcome Santa (Frank Hepp). With the singing of Jingle Bells, accompanied by music played by A1 Smethy and his daughter Donna, Santa finally appeared to the relief of all present. Why should there by any doubt. Doesn’t Santa always get there? Perhaps a little late with all the traffic around. Santa spoke personally to all the children and gave them a lovely gift upon departing. Refreshments were served to all under the wonderful guidance of the officers, their wives and loyal Branch members. All the Branch officers wish to gratefully thank the home office for their generous financial help this year. It is this type of help which encourages the officers to pitch in and make these Christmas affairs the success which they are. Just look at the smiles on the children’s faces during the afternoon and there’s the proqf. It is hoped that all had a wonderful holiday season and may the New Year hold happiness, good health and peace for all of us. Ernest Mozer Branch Manager Branch 59 Scalp Level, Pa. At the regular business meeting the yearly election of officers was held on Sunday, December 11, 1977. The following Officers were unaminously elected: President, Joseph Totsky; Secretary-Treasurer, Mary Miller; Auditors, John Gardy and John Horvath. The Annual Children’s Christmas Party was held immediately after the meeting. The children kept coming with smiling faces which is a pleasure to see. Each child was presented with a bag of goodies and a song book. They really enjoyed opening their bags and singing Christmas carols. Pictures were taken. Unfortunately there were some late comers and some of the children are not in the picture. We had a light lunch of delicious sandwiches and soft drinks.
