Branch 1 Hosts Board of Directors For the first time in the history of the William Penn Association the Board of Directors held one of their regular quarterly meetings outside the city of Pittsburgh. When the Board decided to try meeting in different cities at least once a year the unanimous choice for the first such meeting was Bridgeport, Connecticut, home of the former Rákóczi Aid Association. tosi, Bishop Calvin Synod, Pastor First Church of Christ, Bridgeport, too, de­livered an inspiring speech emphasizing on Hungarian Heritage, the roles the fraternal societies and churches, have played in preserving Magyar heritage in America. Many great things have hap­pened in Hungarian circles and many great things will again occur here, be­cause we must unite and continue carry­ing out our historical mission for Ma­gyar posterity. Highlight of the evening was the pre­sentation of the Board of Directors Re­solution to Mr. John T. Lesko in recog­nition of his services to William Penn Association. (Resolution appears in the Board Minutes.) Mr. Lesko expressed heartfelt thanks for the honor bestowed on him. Benediction was given by Dr. Butosi. The following Branch Officers were introduced: President and Mrs. Frank Bero, Vice President and Mrs. Stephen J. Varga, Vice President and Mrs. Ed­ward J. Behuncik, Secretary and Mrs. John McCarthy, Treasurer Albert V. Ko­csis, Christine Vasas, Auditor, Ethel Ka­tona, District Office Clerk, Mrs. Eliza­beth Messinger, Convention Delegate. Also introduced were Judge and Mrs. Albert Coles, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Zelle, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Zelle, Officers of American Hungarian Catholic Society, Mrs. Louis L. Varga, Mrs. Jeanne Lesko, General Agent and Mrs. Louis Puglisi, Orange, Connecticut. Also newly ap­pointed General Agent for Bridgeport Area, Francis Mosher. Everyone had a marvelous time and we all left the dinner with pleasant memories. Banquet photos elsewhere in this issue. The Officers and members of Branch 1 hosted the Board at a dinner in the Algonquin Club, Bridgeport. In addition to the Officers and Directors, their wives and guests, the Branch Officers, Clergy and General Agents were invited and attended. Mr. Frank Bero, President of Branch 1 and Director of the Association wel­comed the guests to the dinner. Rev. Fr. Robert Nemeth, St. Emery’s Roman Catholic Church, Fairfield, Connecticut offered the invocation. After dinner there was an interesting program. Mr. Albert V. Kocsis, past President of Rákóczi and Treasurer of Branch 1, welcomed the guests in Hun­garian on behalf of the Branch Officers and members. National Secretary Stelkovics spoke briefly on the aims of the Association and on ties with the past. National President Charles delivered an address emphasizing the importance of Fraternalism. Rt.
