1977 Fratemalist Of The Year . . .

National President Charles presents Fratemalist of the Year plaque to Bernard Luketich.

Saturday, March 12th, 1977, over 600 fraternalists attended the second annual Fratemalist of the Year awards banquet, sponsored by the Fraternal Societies of Greater Pittsburgh. The scene of this event was the spacious, Marriott Motor Hotel, Greentree, Pennsylvania. Mr. Bemard Luketich, National Treasurer of the Croatian Fraternal Union was the honoree this year, a well deserved recognition for his many sided fraternal achievements. Appropriately enough our own National President, Mr. Elmer Charles, the first recipient of the Fratemalist of the Year award presented Mr. Luketich with the plaque for 1977.

During the evening the Honorable William E. Sheppard, Insurance Commissioner, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, was presented with the “Brotherhood of Man” award on behalf of the Fraternal Societies of Greater Pittsburgh by President Bemard Rogalski.

Principal speaker was Leonard C. Staisey, Esq., former Chairman of Allegheny County Board of Commissioners.

State Senator Romanelli and U.S. Representative Austin Murphy also extended greetings.
