With the time drawing near to the Annual Bowling Tournament, we had high hopes of having representation with teams from our Branch. Due to various reasons, some due to the recession, other commitments etc., for the first time in many years, we were unable to field any teams. We will miss the fun and the opportunity to get together with our friends from other branches. We hope there will be a good turnout from the Midwest areas to help make this annual event successful. At our last meeting, our President Joe Kustra surprised us with the announcement that he was retiring. He and his wife, Vera, are moving to Florida in June. This was so sudden, it was a shock for us to hear that they were leaving our area. Joe and Vera are true and dedicated fraternalists, always ready and willing to do their share. We will really miss them and we wish them many years of happiness and good health in their new surroundings. We hereby wish to inform our members that at the meeting to be held, Sat. May l()th the delegate to the 1975 General Convention to represent Branch 76 will be elected. The meeting will commence at 8:00 P.M. in the Phila. Hungarian Club, 1125 Southampton Rd., Phila. Pa. We would like to see a good turnout to help formulate new ideas to be presented to the convention. We were glad to see Annabel Karoly at our last meeting, feeling somewhat better after being laid up with the “grippe”. The new year brought a tragedy to the family of Mike and Anna Toth, well known members of our Branch. Their son, 19 year old Robert G., was struck by a car shortly after midnight near their home on Rising Sun Ave., and died shortly afterward in the hospital. Our deepest sympathy to the Toth and Rosenthal families in their tragic loss of a beloved and dedicated member, in the springtime of his life. Steve Szemes.
