Club president John Vespremi’s 7-piece band, the “Naturelles” again donated their services all day; for the price of being a part of this group, and for the fine meals which are always served. The main event this year was a Pizza Treat, made and served by # 2 son of the secretary. Louis L. Lucas, Jr. has written a book called “HOME MADE PIZZA MAGIC” and he demonstrated his prowess so efficiently that the more than 50 people present were served, and well fed, in less than an hour. This book can be purchased from any sports club member, and mail orders will be filled promptly. The cook book will sell for $2.00 and is the next club project for fund-raising purposes. The Hungarian Luau (szalona-sutes) went surprisingly well this year — practise makes perfect, I guess! June Gross gave us her version of Middle East Dancing (after only 5 lessons yet!); our girl-singer, Julia Csordás, rendered her version of “Tiny Bubbles,” the club’s theme song for the summer festivals. The mini-raffles had some nice surprises, especially the 50 pounds of flour donated by Zolié Balog, won by Kathy Takacs. George and Betty Toth came all the way from Algonac, about 80 miles down the pike, with invitation in hand to hold next summer’s festival at their home. From 100-year old wooded forests to Michigan’s finest little “Great Lake,” St. Clair, and boating — something for everyone. Thanks to Mine Hosts, the Csordás’, for another great memory of summer. It was a long, lazy, relaxing, full-of-fun day, with card games under the trees, visiting with friends, dancing entertainment, lots of food and long cool drinks, plus a business meeting squeezed in there some place. The business meetings of the sports club are always efficient, interesting and extremely informative, also Convention Banquet Pictures 1.
