NAGY. fically — our Branch President, Mr. Anthony Noel and his wife took a vacation trip to Europe and by automobile toured the lovely countries of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Yugoslavia and Hungary. Our Branch Treasurer, Mr. Joseph Karoly and his wife flew to that magical island of Majorca and then to the mystical Isles of Ireland. We hope that Blarney Stone will bring continued happiness to the Karoly family. And to that wonderful land of enchantment, Hawaii, went Mrs. Jean Zaluski — we hope she can show us the Hula-Hula, how about it, Jean? And this year, my husband and I flew to Idaho to be with our daughter who made us very happy grandparents for the first time. Our daughter, now Judy Lewis (and incidentally a Willim Penn member since birth) had a baby boy, July 24th, 1972. Little Scott Richard not only made us happy, but great-grandmother Mrs. Anna Mudry was over-joyed. For the first time also, happy grandparents were Mr. and Mrs. Carmen Mudry (Carmen being a former officer of Branch 76), who were blessed with a beautiful grand-daughter, Lisa Mudry. Not to be putdone — for the “5th” time, our Branch Manager Mr. Stephen Szemes and his wife became grandparants to a lovely baby girl, Christine Marie, the proud parents being Stephen and Estelle Szemes. Reminder — our monthly meetings are held on the 2nd Saturday night of each month at the Philadelphia Hungarian Club,1125 Southampton Road, Phila., Pa. Please come! Branch 275 holds its monthly meeting the 3rd Sunday of the month commencing at 2 p.m. in St. Emeric’s Church Hall, 1017 N. 17th Street, Milwaukee, Wis. 226 McKeesport, Pa. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Buck observed the 50th anniversary of their wedding recently. Mrs. Buck has been a most active member of the Branch, has served in various offices, assisted in all social and fraternal affairs of the Branch. Currently she is serving as Branch Auditor. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Buck were married in St. Stephen Church, McKeesport, Pa., September, 1922 and in that same Church 50 years later they renewed their marriage vows before Rev. Stephen M. Kato. Children attending the Golden Anniversary dinner were: Dr. and Mrs. R. L. Buck, Emery and Leslie Toth, Theodore, Andrew and Geza Buck, Mrs. Julia Myers and Mrs. Betty Rothbauer. There are 30 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Buck on their 50th wedding anniversary desire to share their joy and happiness with the William Penn Scholarship Foundation. When Branch 226 held its Candlelight Ball in February, 1972 Mr. Buck was ailing and they could not attend. At the Ball the Branch received $832.50 in donation, Mr. and Mrs. Buck have donated $167.50 to round out the Branch donation to exactly $1,000.00. This noble gesture on the part of this couple is exemplary and we hope that others will follow this innovation. We ask God’s abundant blessing, on Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Buck. 296 Springdale, Pa. Our September meeting was well attended and we appreciate the participation of so many bowlers in the meeting. A Resolution was unanimously adopted whereby the Branch becomes a voting member of the William Penn Association Scholarship Foundation, Inc. and a donation of $100.00 was voted for the Scholarship Fund. The Branch also voted to establish a Scholarship Foundation Chapter within the Branch to promote the Scholarship Foundation. Joe Suzio Bowling League Secretary reported 10 teams are bowling in the Branch League with 5 floaters. Bowling is Friday night at 9:30 p.m. in the Hillcrest Lanes. The members enjoyed a cook-out under the stars, -after the meeting. Our special thanks to Mary Charles, Emma Beganyi, and Irene Charles for preparing the food and to Vice President Telegdy for supplying from his garden the delicious vegetables and wood for the fires. Next meeting will be held Wednesday, October 25, 1972, in the United Church of Christ Hall, 130 Walters Lane. Members are requested to come in costumes in observance of Halloween.
